A Time For Play
(Some suggestive frisky shenanigans. It's Tracks, so of course it doesn't go smoothly. ;3)
"So I've been thinking..."
"That's dangerous, Raoul."
"Oh, really creative, Tristan."
"Excuse my lack of orignal witticisms while I'm in the middle of leg presses." Tristan let out a breath as he pushed the weights out. He eased them back down. His blue eyes looked up to his, well, whatever they were to each other. As much as he wanted to label their relationship, he wasn't going to push. "What were you thinking about?"
"So your sister is Road Rage, popular and talented wrestler, and the two of you used to watch it together. If you're like any siblings I know, you used the moves on each other, right?
Another rep. "Frequently." Another rep.
"You keep yourself fit, you're a good-looking guy, and you have a strong personality.
"Thank you." Another rep. "I think."
Raoul waved off the doubt. "I wouldn't hang around if it was a bad thing. But anyway, why didn't you go into wrestling too? The two of you could probably make a killer tag team." His warm brown eyes watched Tristan's face.
One more rep and Tristan eased the weights down for a break. "Well," he said as he breathed out, "believe it or not, I do actually enjoy finance, business, and so on, especially as my skill in understanding a contract has helped Rochelle along the way." He grabbed a towel and wiped his face and neck. "As fun as I found wrestling, I never had the drive like she did in sports. Nor the desire to throw myself at people and hope they catch me."
Unbidden, Tristan's mind pulled up a memory of shouting and harsh words, ending in Rochelle walking out of their parents' home for the last time in months. Or maybe it was years?
"It was also not a popular choice with our parents." He did his best to keep the shame out of his voice. By the grimace on Raoul's face, he wasn't as successful as he had hoped. "Rochelle was driven though."
Raoul was silent as Tristan took a drink of water.
"Wanna show me?"
"Hm?"
"Wanna show me the kind of wrestling moves the two of you would do?"
Tristan couldn't hold back a little laugh. "Well, this gym doesn't have any couches for what we'd do as children." He stood and, balancing against the machine, looked around. "Though maybe we can do a few things she'd pull on me while she was training. There's an empty spot right over there."
"First thing, of course," he continued once they walked away from the machines, "is the lock-up. You've seen it, I'm sure."
"That thing they do when they run right at each other and push back and forth."
"Exactly, so you'll place your hands here," Tristan set one of Raoul's hands against his shoulder and the other wrapped around the back of neck, "and I'll set mine opposite of yours. Then we can push or pull each other back and forth until we hit the next beat."
As Raoul looked up at him with those lovely dark brown eyes, all Tristan could think about was how close their faces were.
Then Raoul started pushing.
In his surprise, Tristan was forced a few steps back. "Nice try," he said as he pushed back to keep a stalemate, "but I'm not so worn out as that!" He pushed back.
Although Tristan trained so frequently, Raoul was no slouch. He gave as well as he got, pushing Tristan back after he lost some ground. Tristan could feel the thrill in his blood at the playful competition. This was why he couldn't get enough of him!
Raoul forced a short laugh. He made eye contact. "So, teach, what next?" The confidence in the toothy grin was enough to get Tristan grinning back.
"Just this." Tristan slipped one hand from the lock up and pushed Raoul's arm up. He slipped his head underneath, his arms wrapping around Raoul's torso as he circled behind. His hands ran up, pushing Raoul's arms out of the way, and took hold behind his neck. He thrust a leg in front. And pushed forward.
With a yelp, Raoul tilted forward. However, Tristan held him still.
"No bumps today," he grunted, his heart thumping with excitement and exertion, "your face is too handsome for that." Leaning over Raoul's shoulder, he pecked a kiss on his cheek. The resulting flush on his face had Tristan's mind soaring in triumph.
"Thanks," Raoul said. His stance loosened as Tristan eased up on the hold. However, a devious grin was the only warning before his arms wrapped around Tristan's neck. "We ain't done yet though!" He pulled down.
Both tumbled to the floor.
Tristan grunted, the air rushed out of his lungs. However, no quarter was given and Raoul was on top of him, staddling his stomach. Raoul snatched his wrists, pinning them to the floor. Tristan tried to shift, but he was held back down.
"One," Raoul counted, "two, and three. I win."
"You know," Tristan breathed out, "you're supposed to let me kick out at two and a half." Testing Raoul's grip, he squirmed.
"Nah," Raoul said, keeping his grip firm. "I'm not in the mood to draw it out too long. I think it's time we switched it up a bit." His eyes darkened as he shifted his hips back. "Up the stakes, if you know what I mean." The curve of his backside met flush with Tristan's pelvis.
All thoughts that weren't about Raoul and the feel of his body disappeared from Tristan's mind. His eyes widened as he stared up at him. "Oh," was all he could say, especially when Raoul shifted just so.
Leaning forward, Raoul hovered over Tristan. "Real cute when you forget how to speak."
"J-just surprised," Tristan rushed out. It was a struggle to keep his body still, to not chase the blissful pressure of their bodies pressed together. "You're going to have to try a little harder than that."
Raoul hummed. "Right," he said. His hand slid from Tristan's wrist down his arm, and up his neck. With the slightest pressure, he tilted his lover's chin up. "As if I don't know exactly how to make you speechless."
Whatever Tristan was going to say, it was lost as the two were suddenly drenched in cold water. The two jolted up. Raoul's wet hair hung in his face as Tristan coughed up the water tht got in his nose and mouth.
"Huh, turns out it ain't that hard."
They looked up and grimaced.
Standing over them with a now empty jug was Bautista. A wry smirk pulled at his face as he watched them. While not a tall man, he towered over them in this moment.
"It's not what it looks like!" Tristan tried, though he wilted under the deadpan stare he got in return. "Alright. It is what it looks like."
Bautista shook his head. "Hey, I know how it is. I got five kids with my wife and it ain't just because we wanted more of them." He smirked at the face the two younger men pulled. "Don't want to hear it from me? I better not see it from you. Now let's get the two of you up." With little effort, he grabbed their hands and pulled them upright.
"We won't do it again?" Raoul tried, looking appropriately repentant with all the wet hair.
"You won't," Bautista agreed, "especially after you get some extra duties for a week to remind you to keep it in private." He snickered when they groaned. "First one? Mop up this mess."
By this time, Tristan's face matched his red hair. "Yes, sir," he sighed.
The two were quiet as Bautista left them to it.
"Next time, we'll find a better hiding spot."
"Raoul!"

Split ends
Sage running into someone from their past
Vlk belongs to @imapuppy5000
Hazel belongs to @puffymucher
Rosalina belongs to @mirconreadzztuff22
Eva Jayne cameo belongs to @bigfatbimbo
Sage admitted that they were a fan of shopping, as long as it involved getting ingredients for a dish. Finding the perfect tomato was as crucial to them as it was for Velvette to find the right color of spool for her dresses.
They were inspecting the leafy greens when someone bumped into them, automatically Sage apologized despite them being the person who should be apologized to.
The stranger adjusted her hair, "Sam?"
Sage froze, they prayed that this was their mother but they were well aware that she was dead long before their ticket was punched. But the black hair and same emerald eyes was clear as day.
"B-becca?"
"Oh Sam! I didn't expect you of all people to be brought down here." She went to give them a hug but Sage gave them a hard shove.
"Don't ever fucking touch me bitch."
Becca was taken aback, her face now forming into a scowl, "Tough talk from someone who couldn't manage to rob one house."
Sage's hands were tightening into a fist.
"And you have some nerve to try to sweet-talk the same person that you shot point blank to cover your own ass."
Becca placed her hand over her chest, "Listen I know I messed up, but I have changed and I got myself better!"
"Don't care," Sage grabbed their basket and tried to walk away but Becca gripped Sage's arm.
"You don't get to walk away from me bitch! I was helping you get out of that trailer trash dump!"
Sage struggled under Becca's grip, "I don't owe you shit! You only pretended to care about me because I wanted to pretend that I was loved."
Now Becca got close to Sage's face, her breath oozing with the odor of cigarettes, "Like how you are now? You don't think that everyone here thinks that you're mooching off of Hell's powerful ladies? The look on your face when they toss your ass on the street cuz they got bored with you will be priceless. But then again, I can see that you are playing as housewife for them."
Becca finally let go, "But you're right, what we had is in the past, I have myself a new sugar that doesn't frustrate me as much as you did, so have fun being a plaything like you always were."
She sauntered away, like she always did. "Fucking bitch!" Sage shouted, kicking the basket across the floor. Sage took a deep breath, they were not going to have a breakdown in the middle of a chain grocery store.
It wasn't until Sage got to their motorcycle when they could allow themselves to let the tears fall. They were pissed, the cunt that shot them and let them to die had the audacity to tell them that their partners were like her? They refused to accept it, they didn't bust their ass making a better life only for some person to come in and try to tear it down.
--------
Sage entered the tower, the groceries somehow remained unscathed from the road rage that Sage had during the drive. They ran into Vox and Eva, fuck they forgot that he would be joining them for a quick bite.
"Sage! Glad I ran into you, so what master dish are you planning to cook tonight?"
Eva gave Vox a flick on his head, "Sorry Sage, clearly this dunce here isn't aware about the people around him, are you ok?"
Sage quickly faked a smile, "Oh I'm great! Just fine! I just had to deal with some rude drivers is all!"
Eva wasn't convinced but didn't want to press them, "Ok, but you know that you can talk to me if anything is bugging you."
Sage wasn't sure if this is something that they wanted to talk about, if anything they wanted to have this stay dead. But they gave Eva a nod, "I appreciate it."
The trio made it to the penthouse, Rosalina was in the kitchen with most of the ingredients prepared, she was the first to greet the three as they walked in, "Vox? Eva? we weren't expecting you for another hour!"
Eva finger gunned the dragonness, "we got done an hour early, plus we won't be staying long, plus I managed to twist this twink's arm enough so he can have a damn break."
"Hey!"
"It's true though!"
Rosalina's attention moved to Sage, "Darling? Is everything ok?" Cupping the lizard's face.
Sage sighed, "I'm ok, just had a rough drive is all," kissing Rosalina's hand.
"Well the others are getting themselves cleaned up, Vox you can wash the vegetables so Sage can make the salad."
By the time everyone was getting served, Vox and Eva announced that they had to leave, with Velvette protesting, "You barely had a bite in!"
"Sorry dear, but I am this close to getting this one band to work for me and I can't waste another second."
Vox chimed in, "I also have to finish finalizing some sponsors for next week's scheduling."
The two did agree to take the packed meals so they will at least have something to eat for later.
----
"Bluebell? You hardly touched your plate."
Sage's mind returned from their dissociation, "Oh, sorry, guess I'm not in the mood to eat right now."
Everyone's attention landed on Sage, as they were known to have the stomach equal to Hazel.
Vlk was the first to ask, "Something is wrong Sage, you can tell us."
Velvette nodded, "Whatever is bothering you, we are here for you."
Sage took a deep breath, "Ok but you guys have to promise me that you are going to do nothing about whatever it is that I am going to tell you."
Rosalina squeezed Sage's hand, "we promise, right girls?" The others nodded.
Sage knew that they had to chose their words carefully, "I, I ran into my ex at the grocery store."
"Crystal? Me and the boss made sure that she stayed dead when we took care of her-"
"No, my other ex, Becca."
Vlk's ears flatten, "the same one who-"
"Who shot me and left my ass to rot? Yeah that bitch."
Velvette was about to stand up but Sage's voice stopped her, "I said not to do anything."
Velvette snapped back, "What? You expect me to stand by and let the cunt walk free?"
"I expect you to respect my wishes, I want nothing to do with her, we have both agreed to never cross paths again. This is something I want to stay in the past."
Hazel placed her hand on Velvette's shoulder, "Bluebell is right, and they kinda got the better end of that right?"
Sage's shoulder relaxed, "I really did, I love you guys, and no one, not even a shitty ex is going to make me doubt that you guys feel the same way." With the statement being solidified by them receiving kisses from each of their partners.

Okay, to be fair, as a Quebecer, I love making fun of and/or hating on Montreal as much as everybody else, but I remember when this happened. It wasn't just the snow, and it wasn't just a case of "LOL LOOK AT THESE MORONS WHO CAN'T DRIVE IN SNOWY CONDITIONS". Listen, we have snow close to 4-5 months every year. Most people know how to drive in the snow, and it is illegal to drive without winter tires between December 1st and March 15th.
But this shit? It happened early in fall iirc, when a lot of people had not changed to their winter tires yet. The roads were already slippery as fuck because we had ice rain that morning. And then the ice rain quickly turned to snow. It was such an abrupt change in the weather that a lot of major streets had not yet been properly plowed and salted/de-iced. Even with winter tires and chains, that black ice + wet snow combo would have made for terrible driving conditions.
And yeah, we do have a lot of bad drivers here. Trust me, as a pedestrian, there hasn't been a week where I have not almost been hit while crossing the street or just minding my own business while standing on the sidewalk. Heck, I HAVE been bumped by a car once before despite being super cautious (luckily for me, the car was not going fast and I wasn't injured). I've accepted the fact that this is probably how I'll die; ran over by some speeding idiot who's illegally turning on a red light while the pedestrian lights are in function because they were in a hurry and too busy texting on their iPhone to look at the fucking road.
But for once, this wasn't caused by bad drivers.

DEAR DIARY...
New format!! I'm not lazy anymore and I'm making it pretty!! I also might get back to daily entries because I can barely remember what's happening in my life.
On Monday I didn't really do anything. Tuesday I had volleyball and it was pretty fun. There was also a performance from my school's musical theatre group (the students) and it was cool and we wasted a bunch of class time. On Wednesday we had the band performance and I'm pretty sure my ears were bleeding it sounded so bad.
Thursday was Halloween! Me and my friends dressed up as Alvin and the Chipmunks. I was Simon. After school we all went to one of my friend's house because we were gonna trick or treat together. We were out for like two hours and circled the whole neighborhood. One girl gave us a literal handful of chocolate chips and she wasn't even wearing gloves or anything she just threw them into the bag. I ate one which probably wasn't the best idea and it tasted stale...Changing the subject from my bad decisions. Before trick or treating we watched Chipwrecked (one of the Alvin and the Chipmunks movies) and it was really fun. During trick or treating there was a guy dressed as Michael Meyers standing in the middle of the road with a fake ax. Our whole group screamed and ran back and one of my friends literally shrieked. The guy went "wait" and then he gave us all fist bumps when we walked past but then when my friend who screamed went up he raised the ax again and she SPRINTED away it was so funny we were all laughing.
On Friday we didn't have school so I spent the entire day rotting. It was so amazing. Saturday I also rotted. And today was even more rotting. I really needed a weekend where I didn't do anything though because I've been busy the past few weekends and I needed some time to recharge.
That's it! Like I said I might get back on daily entries...we'll see how it goes! Love you all,
Reverie xo.

LATE NIGHTS & CAR RIDES.
One thousand, four hundred and sixty one days. Four years to be exact, since you last saw him. Sitting on a bar stool sipping on some god awful concoction of a fruit punch, you tried to indulge in a conversation with someone who's name you couldn't remember. The sound of a familiar laughter ripping through the air that seemed to be the only thing plaguing your mind. Too distracted to continue the conversation, you excused yourself and left the crowded kitchen island to find a place that held more peace. The bathroom. Praying to the Greek gods that you don't bump into someone you knew.
"Why did I come here again?."
okay.. maybe you only came to this pathetic excuse of a high school reunion only to see him, but could you blame yourself? You missed him. A lot. Although, one thing was pretty clear after this experience, he definitely did not miss you. Not a single text, email, heck- even a letter would suffice. You scoffed at your reflection in the mirror. You really were stupid for holding any hope. If he didn't care, why should you?
Grabbing your purse, you left the bathroom, Stilettos hitting the marble floor as you made your way out of the boisterous house. A Chilly breeze hitting your skin making you shiver at the impact. The Night was freezing, you continued walking further in search of a taxi, having your car break down just days ago and being sent to the mechanic. Your attempts proved futile as there were barely any vehicles around at this hour. Pulling out your phone you tapped away to book a cab instead but a voice made stop dead in your tracks.
"Leaving already?"
Your heart could jump out of your chest at any moment. Sucking in a shaky breath, you turn to face him. His hair messily swayed with the cold breeze, nose tinged pink with his hands stuffed into his black jacket.
"Yes." you breathed.
Choosing to ignore him, you kept your gaze glued to your phone screen. "Its late y'know-" he sounded nervous, desperate even. Trying to scan your face for any expression that could indicate you wanted him six feet under.
"I am quite aware." you replied.
"uh- why don't I give you a ride instead?"
God. Why was he so presistant? Sighing, you offered him a fake smile. "You seemed to be enjoying yourself earlier. I'll be fine, go have fun, okay?" He stood there staring for a good minute, eyes carrying a heavy guilt.
"Please.. lets talk."
You found yourself in the passenger seat of his sleak black camaro. If you were uncomfortable before, now you're in extreme anguish. The atmosphere was tense, your eyes drifted to his slender hands gripping the steering wheel for dear life, knuckles painted white. A light patter of rainfall covered the windscreen. His focus remained on the road, driving a 120 kmph down the highway. You wondered if he was failing to come up with a conversation or if he didn't think it was worth forming one. Turning your gaze to the road, you tried to maintain your composure.
"Aren't you going to ask my address?"
"I-" He ran a hand through his locks, a frustrated sigh leaving his lips. Suddenly, the light patter of rain grew into a whole downpour, making you flinch from the sudden hammering. He was forced to pull into a mostly empty gas station. Parking the vehicle in the far corner and unbuckling his seat belt, he began to take off the jacket that covered his lean figure. Moving to face your figure beside him.
"About the party-" He began.
"I wasn't sure if you would come, when I saw you though, I couldn't bring myself to-"
"I don't care about the party." You hissed, patience running thin by the second. "I want to know why you did what you did 4 years ago."
"I-" You didn't let him finish.
Did he really think you were that easy? Did he expect you to sit still and listen to his explanations, and not react in the slightest? Narrowing your now tearful eyes, you stared right into his. Fingers digging into the fabric of your dress. It was as if all the time you spent together, at school, on hour long calls, never mattered in the first place.
"You think you can just disappear without a trace and come back whenever you please? expecting me to welcome you with open arms?" You offered him a dry laugh, voice shakier than before.
"I know. I know what I did was wrong, I shouldv'e told you. I had to move away because of my career and- I didn't want you to wait for me-" His voice was hoarse and tone a million shades of anxious. Eyes staring into yours, searching for something you couldn't put a finger on. "I missed you- missed you so fucking much- But it felt so wrong to have you wait for me, i wasn't sure if i would come back and-" His voice cracked, breathing heavy, eyes holding the same guilty look as the one from before. Your hands gripped his in an attempt to comfort the man you loved so much, seeing him breakdown didn't help your feelings.
"Its alright, as long as you didn't move on." A bitter laugh escaped your dry throat.
He shifted forwards, tired eyes scanning your face for a look of disapproval as his large hands gripped the side of your waist, pulling you into his embrace. Warm breath fanning over the skin of your neck, a stark contrast to the freezing temperature of your surroundings. The thunder roared outside.
"Let me make it up to you."
A.n: Consider this some sort of vent or even a drabble. I need to work on my romance writing skills

In Bazaaristan
(This text accompanies the preceding audio post but does not cover the journey by train.)
Early globalization along the Silk Road. (Undated photograph)
Some years ago The Economist magazine ran a cover story with the title THE DEATH OF DISTANCE. The world had embraced global communications, planes and containers connected every big city on earth, everything had shrunk and everyone was on the move. Distance was a thing of the past.
I was somehow reminded of this as I stood, recently, on the edge of the Kzlkum desert, watching tour buses unload groups of ageing Italian and French sightseers. (1)
The Kzlkum desert isn't exactly next door, it is an empty corner of a pretty remote area of a pretty distant country, Uzbekistan. It is part of the infinity of Central Asia, thousands of kilometres of steppe and desert, the final geographical disconnect between the old Ottoman, Persian and Arab worlds and Asia proper: the Indian subcontinent, China and beyond. By the time you reach any of the 'stans', Europe has receded far, far beyond the horizon.
Not the Costa del Sol. October 2023
Yet there they were, the tour coaches and taxis bumping around the desert tracks, bringing excursionists enthralled by the the fantasy of, yes, the Silk Road.
The death of distance? Yes and no. It did not quite work out the way The Economist imagined it. Globalization came to be a dirty word in politics, at least in those countries where people felt they had not benefited from limitless free trade and mobility. It was perceived as a threat to national identity, it became part of the arsenal of right wing politics.
But on the edge of the Kzlkum desert, I had to admit, distance didn't seem to matter. Post-pandemic tourism had conquered all. The magic of the Silk Road had pulled Central Asia into focus and turned the turquoise cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, with their elegant tiled minarets and madrasas into generic tourist bazaars.
Their names rolled off the tongue like magic. They were on the bucket lists of millions of eager visitors anxious to see Khiva before they died.(2)
Inside Khiva's walled city: shopping for souvenirs, silly hats and of course, silk scarves. October 2023
Little or no effort has been made to segregate or protect the heritage sites from the opportunities of commerce. A bazaari atmosphere prevails in the historic quarters.
Traders, warriors and emissaries from ancient cultures have crossed paths here, from Greece, Byzantium, Mesopotamia, Russia, Persia, Mongolia, China. For all the unimaginable hardships of desert and distance, they somehow exchanged language, religion, food, astronomy, rituals, warfare, agriculture. Look around today's Uzbekistan and you can retrace this cross-fertilization between East and West. It endures despite the rapid and often careless economic development (like the car culture, western junk food, etc.).
For now overseas tourism doesn't amount to much in Uzbekistan's overall economy but the numbers are clearly rising. As the visitors navigate the imaginary Silk Road in comfort, Marco Polo and Alexander the Great must be spinning in their graves.

(1) Kzl, which means red, often spelled kyzyl or kizil, is a fun word because it has consonants only.
(2) If that wasn't enough, some travellers come this far to behold the dried out shores of the defunct Aral sea with their own eyes.

So I grew up in the 90's. I was born in '85 but most of my youth was spent in the 90's in a small village in Scotland. Previously I had lived in what would be called a housing project in a city in Scotland and it was ROUGH as hell. The two resulted in different types of childhoods.
In the city, my area of play was a car park. The high rises were build up around a communal car park and all the kitchens faced into this area. I always thought this was the 'front' of the buildings, but the door to the building was smaller and it had large round metal bins there that the garbage chutes emptied. Looking back, it was just everyone acted like that was the front of the building, because:
All the kids could play there after school and be 'watched' by (mostly) mums who were cooking in the kitchens. It was pretty huge, and there was enough space for football games, bikes and general play (like tag). It was, to an extent, safe.
Now the SAFE is the important thing to note here because it wasn't SAFE as we think now. There were always cars going in and out. There were several cars pulled to bits, and stockcars for racing. No grass, all tarmac - I knocked out both my front teeth as a 5 year old because I 'kissed the pavement' (tripped and slammed my head against it) and bloody knees, kids getting bumped with cars -never HIT - but like, toes run over, things like that. There would always be a couple men on the back steps, someone would have speakers pointed out the window (carefully, because... they were still connected to the stereo inside with really thin wires) and they'd be drinking and smoking, everyone had a big fucking dog and drug deals happened in plain sight and police DID NOT ENTER. I broke my arm once and the Ambulance driver had to be begged to enter the car park, and only did it cause they were told it was a kid who was hurt.
It sounds like some overly stereotypical American ghetto when I type it out, but this was just poor white people in Scotland.
At the end of the day, the mums would lean out of the windows and scream your name, and that was home time.
The village? FREEDOM. I got lost LOADS of times, and ended up in the town over - I played till it was DARK DARK, I left my bike outside of corner shops and I ran wild. There was a forest 'nearby' and I'd go there almost as soon as I woke up and played and built dens and waded through iron red water because it used to be a coal mine and the water was cold and the rocks were covered in silt and everything was green trees and brown woods. Old men kept pigeon coops and younger men kept greyhounds and almost every garden had a run for one or the other. Greenhouses held together with tape and hope, sheds with spiders and secrets. My mum didn't know where I was most days, and once I ran across the road without looking and the driver stopped and shouted at me that he'd 'tell my gran' and I told him whatever, and HE TOLD MY GRAN. Like people knew each other.
Members of my very extended family still live there. THEIR kids have the EXACT SAME environment to me. Nothing changes there. Maybe the shop is a tesco direct now, and not run by 'the Wallaces' and the ice-cream van isn't Mrs Sharkie any more, but still. No new developments because most of the houses were bought when the coal pit shut and they got paid off. But those kids don't live like I did. They don't run wild, cause phones and playstations make inside more fun and you can do it whatever the weather. Parents are more worried now, because you hear about stuff happening to kids no matter where you live - a kid goes missing 400 miles away and a mum in that sleepy little village knows about it, and worries. I had 4 tv stations. OF COURSE I didn't watch much TV.
It's really, really difficult for me to think of my childhood without rose tinted glasses, it was always ENDLESSLY summer.
I feel so, so, so old when I see takes like "no internet would be the worst" because I was 15 when it became normal-ish to have a home PC (shared with the household, obviously) and I got a mobile phone when I was in HIGH SCHOOL.
I really do wish kids got to be as wild as when I was younger. I can't see my cousin letting her two go off on bikes to 'get milk from the shop' and then just taking off to the shop 10 miles away because she didn't say WHAT shop, and I was old enough to make that seem like a reasonable argument and she was just off stabilizers and was stupid.
She's a mum of two and no, she wouldn't ever let them out of her sight. If she did, someone would probably call her neglectful.
I totally derailed this into a self indulgent wander into childhood memories, but... kids in the past weren't worried about being bored because the stuff you have NOW wasn't a thing. Kids NOW would be bored because they are used to phones and youtube and the PARENTS would freak the fuck out.
anyways, now I miss my gran. She chewed me out for being rude to that man though. He was 'so-an-so, cousin of never-heard-of-her, and they are best friends with whomever, who worked in the shop, and how could she show her face in there again!?'

A Pain You'll Soon Regret - Pt. 1
***This...This is glorious. Oh ho, I will most definitely give you this fic @millenniumofpain! I will do so gladly! Thanks for sending in this great request!***
Poly!MC Summary: MC and the demon lords get in a fight resulting in MC leaving. They planned on going to Purgatory Hall until things cool off, but they never quite make it there. TW: Heavy Angst, Violence, I don't know what to tag this, but there is a pretty nasty verbal fight, Gore/Injury Part Two: HERE, Part Three: HERE, Part Four: HERE
You growled to yourself, angrily wiping tears from your face, as you marched away from the House of Lamentation, away from your partners.
Well, you said marching. It was more of a stumble what with the way your intoxicated brain could barely walk forward. You wished you could say you didn't know how things got like this, but the evidence had been there all along. It was in the slow build of tensions that increased and increased until they overflowed. It was in the way everyone would bite their tongues more and more frequently rather than communicating their thoughts.
Everyone had little things about the relationship between the eight of you that bothered them, and no one said a word until the words could no longer be held back.
It all started after you came back from clubbing way past curfew with Asmodeus.
The two of you were definitely drunk and were giggling messes as you did your best to hold the other up.
You both jumped when the hallway light turned on to reveal Lucifer and the others waiting there for you.
You bit back a sob as you thought of the vicious words that came out of their mouths.
"You're so reckless! Do you know what could've happened to a human like you this late at night in this state?! For Diavolo's sake MC, I expected this behaviour from Asmodeus, but I expected more from you!" Lucifer shouted Asmodeus groaned and leaned against you. "We were just having some fun. It's my date night. Don't get your wings in a twist." Beelzebub glared at him. "Just because it's your date night with MC doesn't excuse you putting them in danger. You couldn't even defend yourself right now, forget about defending them!" You frowned and stepped forward. "Guys relax. Nothing happened." Mammon scoffed, "That's always how it is with you! You think that just because nothin' has happened to ya that it's fine. You ain't invincible MC. Gah, it's like you're just throwin' ya self into dangerous situations just to get us to come to save ya again!" Satan raised an eyebrow at Mammon's comments and crossed his arms over his chest. "Maybe that's what they want. Attention. Is that the real reason why you keep being so reckless?" he tsks and scowls at you, "If you wanted attention MC you could've asked one of your seven boyfriends." You looked at them all with wide eyes. "Wha- I do NOT do all of this for attention!" Levi snarled, "Then why do you do it? Huh? Why else would you get drunk in one of the most notorious clubs in the Devildom? Why else would you date all seven of the Lords of the Devildom?" You stepped back as though you had been slapped by Levi's words. You glanced around at the others, but no one rose to your defence. You met Belphie's gaze hoping, that maybe as the only one to have not spoken up, that he'd be on your side. He just snickered and gave you a perplexed look. "What? Don't expect me to step in. You got yourself in this mess." You stood shocked and hurt; almost unwilling to believe that your partners, the people who you thought loved you unconditionally, verbally attacked you. Anger bubbled and boiled inside of you until you couldn't contain it anymore. "If you guys have such a problem with it, then maybe I won't depend on you anymore! I'm reckless, yeah, I admit, but I never did it for attention and I certainly never put myself in danger just so you all could play the hero," you turned your anger to Leviathan, "And in case you forgot, you all agreed to date me! I thought it was because you all loved me as much as I loved you but apparently fucking not! So if you don't mind, I'm going to leave now like the attention-driven child that you all think I am!"
Not your classiest moment, but you didn't care. It was clear you weren't wanted at the time, and you were too tired to handle the brutal words that they were throwing at you. So you left. Which brought you here, stumbling your way towards Purgatory Hall, drunk, and sobbing as you shivered from the cold Devildom air. You could just see the shape of the Hall ahead of you when you suddenly tripped and found yourself tumbling to the ground. You winced as you felt your knees and hands scrape against the ground. You groaned and turned yourself over to inspect the injuries. "Just when the night couldn't get any worse," "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" You stiffened as three demons came out of the woods around you and began circling you like vultures about to swoop in on their prey. The tallest one snickered. "Looks like the Lords' little pet strayed too far from its masters. Lucky us~"
A shorter, rounder one smiled sharply as drool trickled from its mouth. "Their loss, our gain," it leaned forward and inhaled deeply before sighing in pleasure. "Oh, get a whiff of that fear~ Just, delicious! Do you think it's true when they say that human tears really do add seasoning to its meat?" You tried to scramble away from it, as your heart pounded in your chest, but yelped as your back bumped against a curvier one. Its long nails dug into your shoulders as it secured its hands near your neck. "Only one way to find out." You were in trouble. These demons clearly had no intention of letting you go. You needed to get out of there before it was too late. You jammed the heel of your palms against the back of the wrists of the demon that holding you down, while you leaned backwards away from it. You were able to get just enough slack to roll away from the demon before jumping back to your feet. You were still surrounded, but at least now you weren't defenceless on the ground. Progress.
You did your best snarl, one that you and Mammon had jokingly practiced together one day, and glared fiercely at them. "Do you have any idea who you're messing with? I could have you all killed with just a snap of my fingers. You have one chance to run away, or I promise you that no one will ever be able to find your sorry corpses."
The tall one laughed and smirked at you. "And what exactly are you going to do? Scratch us with your blunt little nails? Bite us with your flat teeth?" The round one perked and began to hop excitedly. "Oh! Oh! Maybe they'll summon the lords to do it for them! Such a pathetic thing doesn't stand a chance on its own."
The curvy one wore a sickening grin as it leaned down mockingly at you. "So, you gonna call your guard dogs or what?"
You froze. You couldn't summon the brothers. Technically, you could, but not at this moment. Not after that fight. They had basically screamed at you about how they were tired of you getting yourself into situations exactly like this and then come crying to them for help. And what did you do? Take off and prove them right. They didn't want to be your heroes. They didn't want you.
You were on your own in this, and there was no way you could fight and win. Without a second thought, you turned towards Purgatory Hall and ran. The laughter of the demons rang behind menacingly. You barely got five steps away before a set of claws slashed deep into your ankle. You screamed out as you collapsed roughly to the ground, making your forehead against the dirt road.
You twisted onto your side to see the round demon drooling over your heavily bleeding leg with a nearly psychotic expression. "I love it when they try to run." That was the only warning you got before it sunk its razor-sharp teeth into your calf. You wailed loudly in pain as you used your other foot to try and kick the demon off of you, but it wasn't so willing to let go of its meal. The tall one grabbed your arm, bending you foreword as it roughly folded it behind your back. You cried out as you felt your shoulder pop out of its socket and nausea swirl in your stomach. "Not so tough now, are you?" It purred in your ear as it licked the tears off of your cheeks. You choked on your sobs as it roughly bit into the flesh on your collar, and weakly struggled in its grasp. "Let go of me! H-Help! Somebody! Help me!"
The curvy one finally approached you, burying its fingers into your hair before harshly yanking your head towards it. You screamed before it slapped its clawed hand across your face. Bile threatened to rise out of your throat as you felt your own blood drip down your cheek.
Spots began to blur your vision as the demon leered down at you with its menacing eyes. You felt your stomach drop as a realization hit you. This was how you would die.
You whimpered as you thought of the brothers, and how you never got to even kiss them or tell them goodbye one final time. Hell, you didn't even get to see them smile at you. Instead, you were reminded that you could never be what they needed you to be.
You would die scared, in pain, and unloved.
The curvy demon laughed as it wrapped its hands around your throat. You struggled to breathe and whined as, for just a moment, you saw Belphegore choking you to death once more, and not this monster. You morbidly thought that it was only fitting for you to be killed the same way twice. The demon leaned closer to you, demanding that you meet its un-naturally yellow eyes as it smiled. "You realize it now don't you? That this is your death bed? That no one is coming for the pathetic little human. I bet no one would even-" Before it could finish its sentence a blindingly bright beam burst across the side of its face sending it flying across the ground. You could hear the other demon curse and began to take off as two voices shouted and more bright flashes were sent in their direction. As your vision began to fade, you saw tear-filled, innocent blue eyes look down at you and a small mouth framed by chubby cheeks try to speak. But it was too late. With a final whine, you felt your eyes roll to the back of your skull and your mind plummet into darkness. ***This request is just evil and I love it. There will be a part two. So stay tuned for more pain. Hope you enjoyed it @millenniumofpain! Thank you for allowing me to write this!!***

♡ scenario: connor losing his mind when you're hurt and charging into the fight recklessly.
♡ pairing: connor kent ( superboy ) x fem! reader
♡ note: not checked for grammar or spelling mistakes / i'm sorry but i'm living for these angst to fluff moments rn especially bc i rewatched reign of the superman and forgot how much i loved connor in it.
Connor watched as you were completely slumped on the side of the building, no longer clear headed and struggling to stay awake. what was supposed to be a clean and easy mission turned out to be more than what the league expected.
he had requested for back up and while they were already trying to fight off the thugs that were attacking Connor, he could still see that you were fighting to stay alive and he had no idea if you were even going to come out of this fight alive.
"what the fuck?" Connor whispered, seeing you now slumped on the ground. he turned to the person who attacked you, eyes fully red with no intention of holding back. Clark could sense his song was a second away from committing murder as he saw Connor charge into the heart of the battle with no game plan, just murder.
"SUPERBOY NO!"
+
you waved shyly to the group of league members as you hid behind Wonder Woman. you were new to the scene of sidekicks and had no idea how to even introduce yourself without sounding like a complete idiot.
"woah new girl!" you heard a male voice say as you stood in your place petrified. you had no idea who it was as Diana had yet to individually introduce you to everyone, "i call dibs!" you heard the same voice say.
Diana turned to you before grabbing the boy who was charging towards you by the head and tossed him back to Superman, "she's not up for 'dibs' Superboy. she's my newest apprentice and you will treat her as such," she threatened.
you giggled behind her as a few of the sidekicks introduced themselves. you knew them as the Young Justice team and although you weren't formally with the team, you figured Diana was training you to become apart of them in the future.
"( your hero name ), this is Superboy," Wonder Woman said, "he associated to the Super family," she explained as he pushed up his dark circled glasses and flicked his hair back, "pleasure is all mine," he muttered, shaking your hand.
you returned a tiny smile before she continued to introduce you to Robin and Impulse. you noticed how Superboy kept his eyes on you. you had no idea if it was because he liked you or he disliked you but every time you turned to look at him, he was already staring at you.
after introductions and the cliche 'your real identity is sacred' conversation ended, Diana felt it was for your own good to get used to your new 'teammates'. she wanted you to make sure you weren't uncomfortable around any of the YJ team even if that included Superboy.
"so, what do you like to do for fun?" Wonder Girl asked, sitting down next to you and handing you a bowl of popcorn. you shrugged, "uh, not much. I like to watch tv and read for the most part. no one really invites me to do things with them," you admitted, scratching the back of your head.
she laughed, putting her arm around you, "well that ends today! we should all do something fun! how about we go to the county fair? doesn't that sound fun?" she asked. you shrugged, not really opposed to the idea, "I call all the rides with ( your hero name )!" Jinny replied.
you smiled, following her and Wonder Girl out the door as Robin, Impulse, and Superboy followed behind you. Robin looked at him, "you like her don't you?" he asked, already calculating the minute Connor had fallen in love with you.
"well she's apart of the team, i'd like to hope we'd all like her," he replied as Robin shook his head, "no, you get what i mean by that," Robin pressed as he could see Connor's face fall with realization. he didn't reply but he could tell what he was tell Connor's real answer through his face.
as they arrived to the fair, they all booked it to the first food stand they saw. Robin offering to pay for everyone being Bruce Wayne's son had its benefits. you ordered a simple coffee as you didn't want Robin to spend too much on everyone.
"what ride should we all get on first?" Jinny asked excitedly. you pointed to the tallest ride, it was one of those high rides that sat two people at the top and had them spinning around, "oh I can't do that. it's way too scary," both Keli and Jinny said.
Superboy smiled at you, "I'm down if you are," he said as he grabbed two tickets from the worker, "cool," you replied as the two of you walked to the line, sweat already building up from nervousness.
once they sat the two of you and made sure you were both buckled in, you stared at Superboy nervously as the ride started up and pulled you up before immediately starting to spin. you stared at Superboy, screaming for you life. you unintentionally grabbed his arms, not realizing you were holding onto him as you continued to yell.
Superboy chuckled, finding your reaction cute.
+
after the months passed and you finally grew closer to everyone on the team, you were particularly close with Jinny and Superboy. you and Jinny shared a lot of common interests as she showed you how to shoot a gun and Superboy...well, everyone could tell the two of you were just seconds away from actually dating.
you walked into the YJ lair, sipping on hot chocolates with Jinny as the weather was turning cold. she was cracking some cringe dad jokes, trying to make you laugh as you tried to contain from choking on the hot chocolate.
"hey, where we yall at?" Keli asked. you turned to Jinny before giggling, "just doing a few errands we had to run before I had patrol with Superboy," you said, not really clarifying on what you both were actually doing.
although everyone could see how much you liked Connor, Connor himself thought you had a thing with Jinny. he knew she was particularly close with you and felt as though he was practically competing with her for your attention.
"do you have my phone?" you asked Jinny as she dug into her pocket and handed it to you. you grabbed your phone before quickly snatching her hat and putting it on, "yee-haw," you giggled into the mirror as Jinny started chasing you down the halls.
as you turned a corner, you bumped into Superboy and fell flat on your ass, "oh, I'm sorry Superboy, I didn't see you there," you groaned as Jinny grabbed her had and put it back on her, "you've yee'd your last haw," she said, making you laugh harshly.
Superboy's eye couldn't help but twitch as he gave you his hand, "ready for patrol?" he asked sternly. you looked to Jinny who crept away from the angry Kryptonian and left you to deal with him, "yeah, let me just freshen up again and I'll meet you outside," you murmured, going into the bathroom.
you quickly used the bathroom before checking if you had everything. you opened the door and walked into the lair's common area. Connor had yet to drop the angry attitude and everyone was eerily silent as you walked in. he grabbed you by the arm and practically rushed you out the door.
"weird," Jinny told Robin as he shrugged, "what isn't weird about him," he replied making everyone laugh.
patrol started extremely awkward. you hadn't felt this weird since you first started on the team and you had no idea what was wrong with Superboy since he wasn't telling you.
the two of you walked on top of roof, scanning the empty roads before you turned to look at him, "what's up? you seem bothered," you asked him as you both sat on the ledge, "seriously? you seem annoyed at me or something so at the very least you can try and tell me what's wrong," you pressured again.
he looked at you with eyes of determination before grabbing you by the collar of the shirt and pulling you into a very heated kiss. you were taken back by surprise but let him continue to kiss you. a part of yelled at Connor pulled you close but another part of him was still screaming at him that you still could've liked Jinny.
"I had to do that before Jinny officially took you away from me," your eyes fluttered in confusion, "uh, what do you mean by 'take you away from me'?" you asked, not knowing what he was talking about.
Connor sighed in frustration, "I see the way you're around Jinny and figured that she likes you and vice versa," he finally admitted as he stood up, not wanting to hear your response. you quickly stood up and grabbed him by the wrist, "hey wait," you said.
he stared at you, "I'm really not in the mood to get rejected ( your hero name )," he ran his fingers through his hair annoyed. you shook your head, "I don't like Jinny nor does she like me. we're just really close friends Superboy," you whispered, bringing him into another kiss.
this time, he was the one taken back but he melted into the kiss, all his negative emotions washing away as you continued to kiss him. he wrapped his arms around your waist as you him in closer by the neck. Connor was definitely not expecting this tonight.
"so does this mean that we're like....together together?" you asked playfully shy. Connor let out a laugh before lacing your hands together, "clearly. I can't let Jinny steal you away from me," he jokingly replied.
+
Connor ran to the three different henchmen as his strength was to the point of killing, not caring if he died in the process. he was recklessly dodging bullets, knowing they wouldn't do anything to him. he grabbed the first man and threw him against a wall as it collapsed around him. Connor only hoping that it did enough damage to unalive him.
the second one he managed to choke him out enough to the point where he passed out but that wasn't enough for him. you were on the brink of death and if he had to see you die, he was going to make sure the men who possibly killed you got what they deserved.
"SUPERBOY!" he heard his father scream again. Connor paid no attention to him as he grabbed the third henchman and slammed him to the ground, throwing punches left and right, "listen to me," Clark screamed at him.
he could see the tears coming down Connor's face as anger, fear, and sadness clouded his mind, "this is not you! pull out of it!" he yelled, shaking Connor's shoulder, "you're about to kill this man. I get that you're angry but you don't get anything out of hurting him. all you get it consequences and your girlfriend needs you right now more than ever!" he continued.
Connor finally shook himself out of his trance as he heard his dad telling him to go to you. Connor nodded and ran to you, seeing you unconscious and hardly breathing, "I'm taking her to the hospital," he yelled to Batman before hauling your body into his arms and flying towards the nearest hospital.
once he finally reached the emergency doors, he shoved everyone out of his way and to the front desk, "she needs help...NOW!" he yelled to the poor receptionist. the girl jumped up from fear but nodded and screamed for a bed and a few doctors.
the doctor asked Connor to place you on the bed before the doctor told him that he could follow them inside. a part of Connor wanted to straight up move the doctor to follow you into the OR but he knew that he'd get into more trouble with his dad and the MPD if he hurt anyone else.
for what felt like hours, he was waiting inside of the room they had told him you'd be in once you got out of surgery. he had already gotten the lecture from his dad about the consequences he would've gotten if he actually managed to kill the three men earlier.
"she's going to make it," the doctor told Connor as he walked into the room while they adjusted you to the bed. Connor nodded, "she'll be out of duty for months. she sustained a lot of injuries to her body that'll take weeks to recover and she got a nasty concussion so you'll need to play doctor for the next few weeks to make sure she's okay," he explained.
Connor nodded as the doctor told him that you should be waking up within the next few hours. Connor adjusted himself on the seat and got comfortable as he had no intentions of leaving your side until you were awake and ready to leave the hospital.
you woke up a few hours later, your body killing you from all over as you saw balloons all around the room. you knew you had landed in the hospital but you had no idea how long you were asleep or in a coma even. you turned to see Connor passed out next to you, his body slumped awkwardly.
"Kon, Kon wake up!" you whispered, shaking him softly. Connor jumped up in a fright as he immediately realized you were awake, "how do you feel? are you okay? do you need anything?" he immediately asked as you couldn't help but laugh at his frantic attitude.
"Connor, I'm okay, I promise," you whispered as you brought him in for a kiss, "my body just hurts and i'm still kinda tired," you murmured as Connor nodded. you managed to wiggle yourself enough to make space for him, "babe, it looks like you haven't slept in days."
"I had to make sure you were okay so i haven't exactly slept in a while," he admitted sheepishly. you shook your head, "you're too much sometimes," you giggled as you put your head on his shoulder, "but you love me regardless," he replied.
this was the first time the L word had came up in the relationship, "yeah, I guess I do but now you need to sleep," you said as you closed your eyes and felt Connor pull you closer to him, "I love you too by the way," you whispered, giving him another kiss on his partially exposed chest.

「call you mine」 xiao x f!reader 18+

summary: it takes a lot to catch the attention of an adepti - especially Xiao. Although still confused by the unfamilliar feeling, he's got his eyes on her around Liyue or Wangshu Inn.
'There she goes again', Xiao thought as he saw you strutting just outside Wangshu Inn, bowing repeatedly to say your apologies to the person you accidentally bumped into. You were running and seemed to be in a hurry when suddenly this man blocked the road you were speeding in, causing you and him to clash. Xiao doesn't normally care about mortal lives, it just so happened that whenever he decided to rest outside the terrace of Wangshu Inn you would always be somewhere outside catching his attention. You're either running around in a hurry or working your ass off trying to make a living by selling sweets and delicacies that somehow became the favorite place for kids around town to visit.
'how clumsy. human lives really are fragile.' he unconsciously thought to himself as he continues to watch from a distance. He saw how you laughed it off with the man you accidentally bumped, how it was easy for you to smile and radiate a warm aura. In his eyes you looked pure. Xiao compared himself to you and scowled at the thought that he could never be someone like you. He feels his chest tighten as he gets reminded of his own demons, his past and all of those who he slaughtered with his own hands, the bloodbath forever painted in his memory. Frowning, he sighed and decided to shrug the ugly feeling off. His eyes wandered around, unconsciously trying to look for your familiar aura only to find you gone from the last spot he saw you standing. With nothing else to do, he kept searching until he caught a glimpse of you from a distance near Dihua Marsh, gliding around with Venti as he creates wind currents for both of you to fly on.
'ah, the bard' he thought. You two were having fun and he can tell you're enjoying yourself just by the look of how you laughed. Xiao felt calm watching you simply being you. Even if it's from a distance, a part of him craved for that warmth somewhere close to him. He wondered what it would feel if someone like you would share that to someone as tainted as him. Xiao glowered when he realized that he was longing for a human. He stopped himself from thinking any more than that. There was no need for you to be involved with the likes of him, it would only make him feel worse knowing that he would be of no good to you. He didn't want your pure glow and warmth to fade away because of him. Xiao sighed and decided to walk back in the inn where he would rather rest to keep your memory out of his head. He had known you for quite sometime now, despite it being from a distance it was surprising that he felt like he had met you. It wasn't difficult for him to somehow feel comfortable seeing your presence outside the Inn. He loved the way your clothes would flow against your body, how your skin looks soft under the sunlit sky. You looked ethereal, he simply adores that and is unknowingly thirsty to get a taste of your gentle touch. Despite refusing to involve himself to mortals he still grew a liking to you, making you an exception. He convinced himself that he doesn't have any time to meddle with a human's life yet his thoughts and actions contradicts this. He feels like he's about to lose his mind as scenarios of you and him fill it up. Xiao leaned back to his chair, throwing his head back as he massages the bridge of his nose. He looked like he couldn't bear to think more of you or he'll go insane. It wasn't enough to just simply think of you - he wanted your presence, he wanted it near and he wanted it now.
Xiao growled and glared at the wall. Standing up, he went out of the Inn. He decided to just come get you himself. He realized how long he was lost in his thoughts when he noticed the moonlight outside. He didn't mind it and just continued to venture out in search of your familiar scent and aura, hoping he'll catch a glimpse of you somewhere near. It didn't take long until he saw you close on a cliff just outside the parameters of the Inn, desperately trying to reach out to the violetgrass you were trying to harvest. Xiao stayed hidden in the branches of a tall tree, hesitating and rethinking his actions because he was unsure of how to interact with you. He was worried he would just scare you away since he was, after all, a vigilant yaksha adeptus. He noticed you struggling to take a hold of the particular flower so he decided to take matters in his own hands and to just help you with it. Xiao leaped and swiftly took it as he landed beside you to hand it over. Surprised by how fast everything went by, you stared at the man in front of you, his golden honey eyes glimmered from the soft light of the full moon added by the glow of the Wangshu Inn from a distance made everything perfect. He was breathtaking, you felt your heart pounding as you reached out to take the flower from his hand. You knew who he was, mainly because you would often hang out with Venti to ask about him. There was something about this adepti that made you want to learn more about who he was. People in Liyue says that he rarely shows himself, even during the Lantern Rite Festival you find yourself hoping for him to come out. And now lo and behold, he's right in front of you - the man you have always hoped to meet.
"thank you," you gave him a slight bow to show your gratitude for his help. You were also extremely worried that he might hear the loud beating of your heart because of how quiet the night was. "it's dangerous to be out here at this time." He said, his voice as cold as the wind blowing. You smiled and chuckled at him before you replied "my bad, I wanted to help out Baizhu because he needed some Violetgrasses. They ran out of it and I couldn't let Qiqi do it herself" you feel Xiao's gaze piercing at you so you look down and felt a shiver ran down your spine everytime the wind blowed. You didn't know what he was thinking, he's unpredictable. His gaze didn't show a hint of what was on his mind. "you're cold. come." your face immediately flared up when he reached out his arm around your waist to pull you closer to him. The butterflies in your stomach went crazy when you felt your bodies touch. Xiao summoned his primordial jade spear as he tightly held you close, you felt a sharp cold all over your skin as you closed your eyes and the next thing you know, both of you are at where it seems to be like the Wangshu Inn. The view was amazing from Xiao's quarters, you can see Mt. Qingce and Jueyun Karst far in the distance under the night sky. He was standing right beside you, an arm still around your waist and as you're busy admiring the view outside, Xiao was preoccupied studying your features. He thought your hair smelled nice, and that the shape of your body fit right in his arms. It was amazing how he made you feel so comfortable despite just meeting each other.
"you feel familiar... and your warmth, I'm drawn to it." he says with a straight yet calm voice. Xiao was doing his best to stop himself from just throwing you on the bed and be one with you. As much as he wants that, he wouldn't want you to feel unsafe around him. He didn't want to hurt you either because he knows what his strength is capable of. Blood rushed to your face as embarrassment seeped in by hearing his words. Maybe it was because he felt the same way as you did that caused an uproar to the butterflies in your stomach. Still quietly standing there, you were unsure of what to do. You were cautious that your actions might come off as rude or disrespectful to an adeptus like him. He studied your expression and slowly turned to look away and fixed his gaze on the painting to his right instead. "are you afraid?... do I scare you?" he calmly asked. It was almost as if he was ashamed of himself in which you immediately denied to. "of course not! It's just that I want to be closer to you but I'm afraid I'll make you feel uncomfortable. I really am happy to be here." you tried to reach out to touch him but decided to stop in your tracks, your hand left hanging in the air. A part of you wanted to comfort him, to close that gap between the two of you but at the same time you didn't want to cross his boundaries. Xiao didn't know what to feel, it has been a while since he felt happy and he thought he almost forgot this type of emotion. He's very new to this kind of thing, he hasn't done this to any other woman besides you so he although he didn't want to admit felt slightly embarrassed about opening himself up to you. Xiao fixed his gaze to meet your eyes, his honey orbs shining in the moonlight leaving you mesmerized by his beauty. He was breahtaking and you could feel his eyes burning holes in your body. It was as if he wanted to say something but just couldn't--just hoping you would get the memo through eye contact. Xiao broke the tension to look at your hand still in the air. You noticed him staring and as you were about to place it back down he caught it with his own and laced his fingers into yours. Embarrassment started to wash all over you. You wanted to yank your hand back but you knew you'll immediately miss his touch if you do so. Unconsciously you bit your lip to stop your face from turning into a complete replica of a tomato. Seeing that sight of you drove Xiao crazy, the eagerness to be closer with you grew faster as every second passes by. Xiao isn't usually the type to be the first to make a move but he yearned for you so much until he could no longer take it. He acted without thinking twice and went in for a kiss, his hands slowly going up to cup the back of your head to pull you closer. You were surprised but you soon didn't have the time to care about it because of how easily you got drunk by his kisses. It was obvious Xiao didn't have much experience in this, his kisses were sloppy but at the same time it was gentle. It was slow and he took the time to explore your mouth as his tongue slipped in. Your knees trembled as the tension around the two of you grew, any further than this might make your legs give in. You clinged on to him as your knees felt jelly, Xiao groaning in the process in response to your sudden shift of movement.
Hearing him groan was the cherry on top for you to go insane. It was too much and you feel your body heating up as both of you grew more needy of each other's touch. With one hand cupping the back of your head, Xiao placed his other on your waist to pull you closer. Your bodies touched as he continues to make out with you, he pulled you in so close that your boobs are all pressed up against him. You groaned when you felt his boner, driving Xiao crazy when he too felt stimulated. "mhm," he moaned, hand gripping tighter on your waist. You were so close that you can't help but grind on his hardened member while both of you moaned in each other's kisses. Xiao held on to your thighs, pulling it up to carry you. You felt his dick graze on your clothed pussy, the friction making you dripping wet. Xiao carried you and laid you on his soft bed, making sure that your head would be supported by a pillow underneath. He was caring despite his hungry kisses and you blushed at the thought of him being thoughtful for your well being. Xiao didn't waste any time after he laid you in bed, he reached out for your clothes and slowly stripped you out of each garment, planting hickeys here and there as his hands traveled on your sensitive body. "mhm... Xiao...more.. please--hngh" you tried to beg only to be cut off by your own moan when Xiao decided to place his lips on your nipple, his free hand groping the other. "be a patient good girl for me." he cooed. Xiao was emitting such lewd sounds as he sucked on your nipple, his other hand slowly making its way down to your already wet cunt, his fingers kneading slow circles on your folds. You squirmed and moaned underneath him, your knees folded and closed due to the sensation. "how sensitive.. so pretty." Xiao nibbled on your lips before using his hand to pull your knees apart to allow him to move his fingers easier. He wanted you wide open for him, all stretched out for him so he can feel you dripping for him. You arched your back when you feel him press his digits on the folds of your pussy, slowly prodding on the entrance while his thumb was kneading on your budding clit. You tightened around his fingers, each move heating you up as you craved for more. Xiao kept planting hickeys around your breasts, occasionally sucking and licking on your nipple while his fingers played with your pretty little cunt.
"hngh... want you.. Xiao--ngh" you begged. Any more of his stimulation might make you cum, especially when he knew exactly where to touch you down there. Xiao ignored your plea, still insisting on teasing you. He liked the idea of being in control and having you weak for him with your mouth open while you moan, eyes shut, hands gripping on his hair and back arched while your pussy is being played. He used slow motions to play with your folds and the insides of you, making sure that he touches the right spots to send shivers down your legs. "no.. ngh.. Xiao.. faster--please" you pleaded breathlessly. But Xiao was strict and stubborn to his actions and instead of obeying to your wishes, he switched from sucking on your nipple to nibbling on your ear. "so needy." he whispered as he curled his fingers inside you and made small circles on the walls of your pussy. You were a moaning mess, he hit your g-spot so good that you tightened around him. You feel it building up inside you, if he keeps going any further you might just come on his hand right then and there. Xiao used his two digits to spread and carress the walls of your pussy, giving you no choice but to just moan harder to the sensation. "Xiao--nnghh I might.. I--" Xiao cut you off, his lips shutting you up as he kissed you torridly.
"Not yet." his voice was stern and strict. It felt more like an order that you had to obey or else you'll face consequences should you wish to disobey him. He pulled out his fingers before you reached your limit. You feel your cunt throbbing, eagerly craving for him to fill you up. Xiao sat back to strip himself, his hands finding its way to grip on your knees to keep it wide open for him. You took a good glimpse of his cock, tip already dripping with precum. You wanted it in so bad. Xiao wasted no time and began to grind the tip of his member on your clit, making sure that his dick is coated by the juices of your wet pussy. Your moans echoed in his room, he was teasing you and he did it nice and slow, making you more and more impatient. You wanted to beg, to make him hear your pleas but you did your best to remain patient and do as he ordered. After a while of more teasing, he loomed over you. His hair was falling on his face as he prompted himself over you and you swore the sight could make any woman in Teyvat lose their sanity.
"good girl." he burrowed his face in the crook of your neck and planted soft kisses on it, his hands carressing your torso and groping your breasts all while at the same time making you feel the tip of his cock enter your pussy. You were so wet and it wasn't even his whole dick inside you yet, the stimulation just drove you insane and knowing that it was Xiao fucking you was enough to turn you into a moaning hot mess. You feel the tip slip in and you arched your back as you moaned. He was all over your body, making sure that his hands and lips were planted on your skin so you don't forget his warmth. He kept teasing, only letting the tip in and grinding it in the entrance of your dripping cunt. "hngnh.. Xiao.. please--ughn, I want it.. in-" It was this familiar feeling again. Any more of his teasing and you might just come. It was just too good and a big part of you just wanted his whole thing stuffed in you. "hmm.. so impatient." he cooed, his lips brushing on your neck and all the way down to your shoulder. He planted one last kiss on you before sitting back up, his hands now gripping on your knees to spread them wide. He took his member out and held it, using the tip to gather the slick dripping from your cunt before shoving his whole dick in. Moans were the only thing escaping from your lips, head filling in with ecstasy as Xiao pounds his cock in you. He was going in so fast and deep, the curve of his cock grinding on the pulsating tight walls of your wet needy pussy.
"ngh..." his moans were a major turn on and you paired it up with your own sets of moans too, making it the only sound being heard in the room other than the sound of skin slapping from being fucked hard by an adeptus. The pounding of his cock inside you was enough to bring you to cloud9. You reached out to his arms and hugged him close, your fingers digging on his back as his thrusts grew faster. The built up orgasm you had from all his teasing earlier was coming back again but you paid no mind to it and continued moaning. "oh! Xiao... there.. deeper---there!" he went in much closer to you, face buried beside your neck while his hands travelled down to grip on your butt, raising it up a little so he could hit the deepest parts of you better. His cock prodded on your walls that was now tightening up more than before. You were so good around his member, your pussy enveloping every part of his throbbing dick inside you.
"Xiao.. coming.. hnngg--" you wrapped your legs around him to pull him closer, wanting every inch of him go deeper as you neared your orgasm. "Go on. Come for me." he said it with his raspy panting voice right in your ear and licked it as he rammed his cock in a slower but deeper pace. Once again you were a moaning mess, helplessly calling out his name in between moans. You spasmed as you came, toes curling in and your fingers drawing lines on his back as you digged them in his skin. He let out the sexiest moan as you feel his load being shot inside you, deliciously filling you up and the rest dripping out at the entrance of your creaming pussy along with your own cum.
You lay there breathlessly under him, your head still high up in the clouds. You feel him panting beside you and he proceeded to hug you as he rolled over to the side, not minding that his cock was still stuffed inside you. You liked the sloppy feeling of your pussy dripping with his cum and his dick coated by the creamy walls of your hot cunt.
You hugged him back, snuggling in close to him and slowly drifting to sleep. You felt him kiss your forehead after a while and his hand cupped the back of your head to pull you closer to his chest. You had the sweetest dream that night and you couldn't be any more happier than knowing that you were wrapped in his arms during your sleep.

a return to roots | 5
pairing: kita shinsuke x f!reader
summary: y/n is a rising star in the music industry, having almost everything you could have ever hoped for as a small-town country girl. now after releasing two triple platinum albums in consecutive years, you face the dreaded artist’s burnout… in order to recover, your manager suggests, you should return to your hometown in hyōgo for a long-deserved break.
genre: socmed/smau, slice of life
warnings/tags: timeskip!, mutual pining, slow burn? more like rekindling, slight canon divergence
masterpost
Ichiro arrived right on time at 5:45 in the morning, buzzing your door just as you had gotten dressed after a quick shower. Steam wafted out of the bathroom as you rushed to the door to greet him and show him where the luggage was. Without anything to say, he promptly picked up one of the large hard case suitcases and you followed suit, going after him into the elevator. When your bodyguard loaded both of your cases into the trunk of his car and then opened the door for you to get into the car, you quickly said, "I need to double check everything in there is fine. I'll be back in a minute."
After reassuring Ichiro that you would be ok by yourself, you dashed back inside to survey your apartment, checking each room to make sure you hadn't left anything important behind. The kitchen and living room were clean, check. When you got to your bedroom, you paused, seeing one of your acoustic guitars sitting in the corner. Should you bring it? Were you actually going to write music? When you had announced your hiatus officially, you had stated that it was to gain inspiration for new music... but then that wouldn't really be a break, would it? You gnawed on your lip, remembering what Kuroo had asked of you the night before: "Take care of yourself in Hyōgo, alright? You're there for a reason; to take a break."
You scowled, cursing Kuroo and his knowledge of your work habits. But, a voice inside you reasoned, it wouldn't be work if you were writing just for fun... You thought back to those moments in your childhood home, in your room, writing songs and uploading them to YouTube and SoundCloud without thinking that anything would come of it; back before you felt any pressure to perform. Back to when you wrote lyrics that weren’t very sophisticated, but earnest and heartfelt all the same… back to when you had your muse to sit beside you every step of the songwriting process.
Before you could convince yourself otherwise, you ran to the corner of your room and snatched the guitar, put it in its case, and then snapped it shut with finality.
If Ichiro was confused about you carrying down another piece of luggage, he said nothing, only staring ahead and driving when you were buckled. "Onigiri Miya," you reminded him, then settled into your seat. The ride there wasn't too far from your apartment; you had rented out the space because of its convenience, so anywhere you usually wanted to go to was within a reasonable distance. You watched the traffic with disinterest and spotted restaurants with dim lighting inside, most likely already prepping for the day ahead of them. The world kept moving on ahead, regardless of whether or not you liked it.
When you arrived at Onigiri Miya, Osamu was already out back in the van, probably waiting impatiently. You checked the clock in the car and clicked your tongue. You weren’t even late.
When you stepped out of the car, Osamu opened his door and got out too. You smiled widely. “Samu!” You rushed forward and gave him a strong hug, which he somewhat reciprocated. He wasn’t as big on physical touch as his brother.
Osamu only rolled his eyes though, patting your back as you told him he looked great. “You do, too. Want me to help with your bags?”
You led him to the trunk of your ride, where Ichiro was already opening it and carrying one of your suitcases. Osamu hefted the other one up, and you trailed behind with the guitar case. After securing everything in the back of the van, you turned to your bodyguard.
You smiled, a genuine smile, and then repeated what you’d already told him over text. “Well, Ichiro-san, I don’t know the next time I’ll see you. I’ll make sure to text you in advance if I plan on going to more public areas.” He said nothing, so you continued. “Thank you very much for all you’ve done for me, and I look forward to seeing you again in the future!” You gave him a bow, which he reciprocated stiffly before quickly getting back into his own car and driving off.
You sighed, then looked to Osamu. He quirked an eyebrow. “Ready?” You nodded determinedly, getting into the passenger seat of the van and buckling, him doing the same.
“Alrighty, then,” he cracked a grin. “Time for a road trip.”
After a while of scrolling through your social media accounts you sat back and stretched. Then you flopped back into your seat and looked over to Osamu. “Samu,” you whined in the most obnoxious voice possible, “do you have any food? I’m so hungry.”
Osamu rolled his eyes, jerking a thumb towards the back of the van. “Ya really think I wouldn’t bring food for the trip?”
Immediately, you turned around and began looking behind your seat for food. Sure enough, there was an insulated bag with onigiri. You gasped, bringing the bag into your lap with stars in your eyes. “You brought some?”
You ignored whatever his response was, instead unwrapping one and biting into it. “Mmm,” you moaned, chewing slowly. The nori was still crisp and the rice was fluffy yet still sticky. You closed your eyes to focus on the food. He must have made them right before you got there for them to be this fresh.
“I’m guessing you didn’t eat breakfast, then,” Osamu said, eyes staring ahead at the road.
Your grip on the rice ball tightened before you quickly realized what you were doing. Your apartment didn’t really have much left to eat after you’d finished up the gyoza last night, and even if you’d had food, you weren’t sure if you would’ve been able to keep it down. Butterflies had filled your stomach as you had tried to go to sleep, and they hadn’t really disappeared yet. “No,” you shook your head. “I woke up early in the morning and was tired.”
Osamu hummed and then didn’t say anything else. After another long beat of silence you squirmed in your seat, a little on edge. “Mind if I play some music?” He shook his head at your question and so you took over the AUX, playing some songs that had been stuck in the back of your mind lately. After the music started, any awkwardness immediately dissipated as you sang along and Osamu tapped his thumb on the wheel to the beat of whatever was playing. At one point you had even pointed out his cute habit to which he had denied before doing the same thing twenty minutes later. Giggling, you just looked out the window and didn’t comment on it that time.
After about an hour of songs, Osamu finally spoke again. “You can go back to sleep, if you want. Ya look tired.”
You looked over at him and then nodded, curling into yourself, rubbing your wearied eyes. Sleeping would be a good opportunity since you hadn’t gotten much last night. You leaned against the seatbelt and window and closed your eyes, ignoring the bumps in the road which made your head hit the glass each time. Before you knew it, you were asleep.
After a little less than five hours, you woke up to Osamu driving, now playing the radio instead. You looked outside. Gone were the skyscrapers and bright lights; in their place were rows and rows of empty fields, all blurring past you. "Are we in Hyōgo yet?" you asked, turning back to him.
Osamu gave you a quick glance and then switched his gaze back on the road. It was just the Onigiri Miya van on the stretch, the rest of what you could see of the roadway completely devoid of another vehicle. "Yeah," he replied. "We have about an hour left. I was gonna stop at the next place to stretch, though." He looked over at you again. "Is that alright with you?"
You nodded and then dug out another rice ball from the thermal bag, munching on it as you stared out the windshield. The nori wasn’t crispy anymore but at least the filling was still yummy. "So we're going to stop somewhere first. What's the plan after that?"
Osamu adjusted his grip on the wheel, driving with only one arm. "I was thinking that we could stop by your house, unload your luggage, maybe clean up your space since no one's been there for a while, and then go to do my business in Hyōgo." He paused, then added, "With Kita."
Your heart raced. It was your first day back and you were already going to have to face Kita. You could just stay home, a voice nagged at you. No, you thought, your face filled with grim determination. You could do it.
Almost as if sensing your internal strife, Osamu said, "Y'know, Y/N, I think Captain is just as nervous, if not, more." He continued staring ahead, not looking at you. Now he started tapping his thumb against the wheel again.
But you, your head snapped to look at him. "Really?" you asked, eyeing him skeptically.
Osmau nodded, smiling. "He's barely said a peep in the group chat he's in with me. Although now that I think about it, that's usually how he is." He chuckled. "Unless he's getting in between me and Tsumu."
You sighed, sitting back. Why had you expected Kita to hold anger towards you? Because you chose a career over him? Because you chose success over two of you, the voice in the back of your mind whispered. You ignored it, crossing your arms. You felt bad for thinking he would be anything less than how he always was in your mind (he was always Mr. Perfect), but it also made you feel better knowing he was scared too. No, not scared. Nervous, Osamu had said. Oh, god, how were the two of you going to act when you saw each other?
"Hey, Y/N." You turned to Osamu just as he pulled into the driveway of probably the only gas station within a 50 mile radius. He smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling. "You'll figure it out."
As you followed him out of the van to stretch out your legs, you could only hope that you would figure it out. Preferably before you had to see Kita.
You had, in fact, not figured it all out by the time you and Osamu reached your childhood home. Instead of thinking about your lack of a solution, you resorted to reaching under the dingy welcome mat and pulled out a plastic bag with a key inside. “Still here,” you said cheerfully, showing the dirty bag off to your friend.
Osamu rolled his eyes and waited as you fumbled with the key to the house and then eventually opened the door.
You peered into the dark corridor and slipped off your shoes before stepping onto the hardwood floor. “I called the electricity and water guy,” you muttered, dragging one of the suitcases behind you. You paused and then grabbed the handle, which extended, then let the suitcase’s wheels do the work for you. “Everything should be functional by the end of the day.” When you got to the end of the foyer, you gasped. “What…?”
The inside of the house was, contrary to your belief, not at all covered in a thick layer of dust like you’d expected. Instead, it looked almost exactly the same as when you had moved out from there.
Osamu trailed behind you, taking his cap off and scratching the back of his head. “To be honest, I forgot that this was happening. Everyone here didn’t want to see your house collect dust and fall apart, so they..." He motioned around him, your eyes following.
The tatami mats in the living room and your parents' bedroom were clearly cared for, otherwise there would’ve been the overwhelming scent of dust or mold. You could imagine the diligence it would’ve taken to clean them so regularly. And the furniture— you ran a finger along the top of the kotatsu and then looked at it; nothing. You’d have to move the kotatsu into storage since it wouldn’t make much sense to have it out right now; you only used it in the winter...
You drank in the rest of the house, mentally planning where to place things and what to rearrange to your own liking. "I'll get the other case you brought," Osamu muttered, sidestepping around you to reach the doorway. You barely noticed him leave as you crept to your own childhood bedroom, sliding open the shōji screen door.
…Huh. It didn't look any different from what you last remembered. You walked inside. You had your western-styled bed, which still had the furniture sliders under the legs to protect the tatami mats; the bookshelves along the wall with your favorite books and shōjo manga... You paused at the string of fairy lights strung above your dresser. Clipped onto them were photos from high school: you and Osamu proudly holding a double-tiered cake you'd made in home economics, you and a few of the other Inarizaki boys fooling around after practice, you with your parents in front of the school in your third year. You laughed to yourself while looking at them, recalling the moments in which the pictures were taken; back when Samu's hair was grey and Tsumu didn't know what toner was, back when your only responsibilities were as Y/N the assistant manager and co-class representative of 3-A.
You stared at the end of the string lights, where there was a picture missing. You knew what was supposed to be there, in that gap. You were unsure of where it had gone though, so you searched your entire bedroom, taking out all of the books in your shelves and turning them upside down, removing all of the drawers in your dresser and peeking inside the base. You scoured your belongings for a sign of where that photo could have been, but to no avail.
"You looking for something?" Osamu pushed off of the doorway he'd been leaning on and peered over your shoulder. "I can try to help ya find it."
You shook your head, smiling. "No, it's okay. I lost something but it's not that important." You stood up and dusted yourself off, brushing your hands together. "We have some free time now that I don't have to clean up around here. What should we do?"
Osamu nodded, thinking to himself. "Well, we could go reacquaint you with your neighbors… or we could get to the farm early. It’s,” he checked his phone, “around 3 right now so we would have a couple hours to check out the entire farm. It’s big, so having too much time on our hands wouldn’t be an issue.”
“Uh…” You bit your lip and stared expectantly at Osamu. You make the decision.
He lifted an eyebrow incredulously, then said, “Alright, farm it is.”
You dropped your phone into your lap in disappointment, tempted to just throw it out of the window of Osamu’s van. Kuroo really is kind of useless, huh, you thought, staring out of the window glumly.
The sound of the tires hitting gravel road caught your attention and you looked out the front windshield. You sucked in a breath. You were here. At Kita’s farm. Or rather, you thought, Kita’s house. You had parked in the driveway of his home which overlooked all the fields. They were still somewhat of a muddy brownish color from how far away you were.
“Ready?” Osamu tried to look grim, knowing of your inner turmoil, but his glittering eyes said otherwise.
You exhaled and then nodded. “Yes.”
The two of you didn’t end up getting very far along the fields before Osamu ran into someone he knew, probably someone else working on the rice fields under Kita based on the way he was dressed. He wore a wide-brimmed straw hat and, somehow, long sleeved shirts and pants. Osamu smiled, greeting the man, “Koji.”
His recipient smiled too. “Osamu. How’s business in Tokyo? Still thinking of opening another shop in Osaka?” Koji motioned for him to follow him down the path in between the rice paddies, and he did, already lost in a conversation. You watched as another group of workers came towards the duo, and you heard laughing and cheering as Osamu talked to them.
Well, damn. Osamu had left you behind. You looked around and then checked your phone. You still had basically two hours to kill. “Ugh…” Should you just wait in the van for Osamu? What if Kita saw the van pulled up and approached it, though? You did NOT want to be alone with him, just the two of you. Plus it would be hot waiting in there. You pulled at the front of your t-shirt. At least there was a slight breeze every once in a while when you were outside.
Am I really going to do this? You looked up at the sky and shielded your eyes from the sun. It was already beating down on your shoulders and back. Sighing, you started in the opposite direction of where Osamu and the workers had gone. There seemed to be a lot of property, you thought, admiring the view. Although the rice paddies were still muddy, the view you had from this side of the farmhouse was stunning. In the distance were lines of trees so dense, and mountains even further away, just a faint silhouette smoothed against the sky. You imagined what it would look like when the rice was ready to be harvested, all green and heavy with the fruits of labor.
A few days ago you’d thought absentmindedly that life had been kind to you, Kuroo, and Kenma. But now, looking around the serene landscape and close-knit community of workers, filled with a fresh green newness brought from only the spring, you wondered: maybe the years had been kind of Kita, too.
Behind you, you heard dull rustling, and you turned automatically. You froze, stunned. Your mouth moved and formed words before you could even comprehend what it was you were saying.
“Kita?”

---------------
Jay and Sunghoon grew up as normal half siblings- they had never met their shared father so their bond came as a surprise to most people.
If you were to ask them about their childhood, they would talk about the fun memories with their mom or the time they went on a road trip in the summers of elementary.
"Mom's been kind of nervous these past days, I guess they're not doing a good job at hiding their feelings about my 18th birthday." Sunghoon commented nonchalantly while scrummaging through the kitchen cabinets.
Jay answered nothing-afraid of the news that would unravel in a few days on his birthday.
On that late December day, a red shadow visited Sunghoon in his sleep and so when he woke on his 18th birthday, he was no longer the human persona he used to know.
-----
It had been seven years since their 18th birthday: lost memories and immortality had plagued them.
They hadn't chosen the life they were forced live: much less when it came with hefty price.
Their mothers had lost their memories of them: the side effect of immortality. With no family besides their newly welcomed father, it was the two of them against the human condition. They never understood the entirety of their supposed job. "Make humans face consequences," wasn't of much help.
All they ever understood was that they were never the one's responsible for the downfall of the individual.
-----
It was now ten years since their 18th birthday.
Ten years of observing from the shadows and watching as groups of friends, family and strangers destroy themselves until death. The body count of those lost had slipped their minds completely.
But today was different. While exiting their most recent school, they encountered two bodies on the paved cement. They knew the two boys: it was Heeseung and Jake, a pair of brothers.
Except they were dead.
When they came closer, their bodies were covered in several stab wounds and pools of blood had collected by their sides. Maybe it was the sympathy as fellow brothers, or the flaming instinct that their father had warned them of, but they pierced their own skin, dropping the red liquid into the mouths of the brothers.
Ten minutes later, and they were alive once more.
-----
[PRESENT DAY]
It had been fifteen years since their 18th birthday.
For Jake and Heeseung, it was five years since they had gained their own immortality. When they awoke that day, they remembered the trauma of being murdered by their own friends, and never expected to live to see another day.
Together, it had been another five years of understanding their job, knowing too well where to find the next person at their school.
Meanwhile, three boys prepared for their new day of school. Riki, Jungwon, and Sunoo. Three cousins who were forced to move to a new school under their parents switching to a new company.
Nervous glances, sweaty palms, and a rush of nausea represented how terrified they were to enter. As they stepped foot into the school, they immediately apologized to the group of four immortals entering for bumping into them.
The four immortals had found it amusing and an odd instinct drove them to watch them from a far. The way they bowed their heads slightly. The way girls would line up outside the classroom window to watch them. The way they could observe the envy growing on the faces of the previous three popular boys, losing their social place due to the fresh faces.
They weren't concerned with the well being of riki, jungwon, or sunoo. At first anyway.
When the basketball triplets had lost their income of fan mail, gifts, and hook ups was when an alarm rang within them.
Three hours later and the three new boys, sunoo, jungwon and riki were found covered in red and unconscious on the side of the road. The same instinct ran through them, and they once more dropped their own red blood into their mouths.
-----
Twenty minutes later and they found themselves in a blank white room. Remembering what had occurred minutes prior, they looked around and found themselves in tact.
"Jungwon, riki! Wake up!" Sunoo shook them slightly until they woke. At the same time, one of the immortal boys walked in with a tray of snacks and water.
"Take this, it'll help." They accepted the food hesitantly seeing as they just stared at them.
"Where are we?" Jungwon asked between mouthfuls.
"It's my temporary home, or well our new home given your new condition." He responded.
"I'm Jay by the way."
"But we were dead. I remember. We got ran over by the car earlier." Riki still looked at them, terrified almost.
"I know. We saw you get ran over, but we brought you back. So, you're welcome." Jay said sarcastically.
"You did tell them that they're immortal right?" Sunghoon had now stepped into the room, sipping on a glass of orange juice.
"We're what!?" They all screamed in shock.
"Immortal. We'll explain more tomorrow so get some rest." The doors closed but not before Sunghoon could get another word.
"Sleep tight and remember, nothing is ever your fault," at last the doors closed leaving them to think in dark silence.
-----
rubynote: ajnss yay I finally wrote the first chapter! This chapter is a lot shorter since it's more of an introduction :)

Summary: (y/n) met Seonghwa in college and they quickly became close, ending up as friends with benefits. On a night out with some friends both of them ended up drinking a bit to much and well, I think we all know where this is going.
⇘
“Whereee shouuuuld weee go next?” (y/n) asked, loudly, as she grabbed Seonghwa’s arm so she wouldn’t fall, being tipsy from all the wine she had been drinking with her friends at dinner.
“You should probably head back home before you hurt yourself or someone else.”
“Don’t be a mood killer, sweetie!” (y/n) groaned back to Mia, pointing a finger to her way too sober roommate and best friend. "We still have a long long night ahead of us!" (y/n) stumbles making Seonghwa hold her closer to him.
Seonghwa wasn't nearly as drunk as (y/n), just tipsy enough to go on board with her crazy plans without thinking twice.
"So, let’s go find a party to crash!" the boy started walking away from his friends dragging a smiley faced (y/n) with him, both clearly more intoxicated than the rest of the group.
They hadn’t gone far, mainly because of how slow their feet were moving, when Hongjoong intervened.“Guys! Wait up!” they stumbled on their own feet when turning around to look at their friend. Their two friends were already approaching them. “Do you guys really think it is a good idea to just wander around like that?”
“YES!” both stated firmly at the same time before bursting into laughter.
“Well, I’m not in the mood and since you’re both adults you can take good care of yourselves.” Mia shrugged her shoulders and was about to leave when she remembered something else, “Please be quiet when you get home, and be safe.” She threw a warning look at Seonghwa when saying the last words. She knew how crazy her best friend could get with a couple of drinks and a party, and Seonghwa had a strong effect upon (y/n) that Mia never understood, and she only hoped he would use it for (y/n)’s sake.
“I’ll take you home, Mia. See you tomorrow guys.” Hongjoong did a little run to catch up to the girl. The other two friends bursted into laughter again when they saw Hongjoong place an arm around Mia’s shoulder.
“Now we know why they wanted to go home so badly…”
“Oh Seonghwa, they’re not like us. They will probably just cuddle for now. Let’s go!” (y/n) grabbed the boy’s hand and started her demand to find a party again.
“What do you mean they’re not likes us? We also cuddle!” (y/n) giggled at how offended Seonghwa sounded.
“Hm you know, they want a real relationship, we’re just friends having fun. Besides, our cuddles are never just cuddling.” She said it like it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t really think much of it. Seonghwa on the other hand got hurt, he didn’t quite understand why though. They agreed from the very start that this was a casual friends with benefits kind of thing, nothing more.
He shook these thoughts out of his head, thinking perhaps it was just the alcohol speaking.
In the meantime (y/n) uploaded a story of them on Instagram asking if there were any parties they could crash. That story led them to a new club that had opened recently, making (y/n) almost run there out of excitement. This was her first night out in two months, after being trapped between her room and the library to study for exams. Now she was finally free and wanted to live it to the fullest, Seonghwa not minding at all to join in.
Unfortunately, the excitement soon turns into disappointment. They get to the club, ID’s in hand, bodies already moving to the muffled beat leaving the building, but the security guard stops them from going any further. They look at each other and back at the big, buffy man, that blocked the entrance with his arm, with confused looks. They had already showed their ID’s, it didn’t make sense.
Then, the guard pointed at (y/n)’s clothes. She was wearing black shorts, fishnet tights, combat boots and the piece of clothing that seemed to be the problem, an oversized boyfriend style t-shirt.
“You can’t come in with boy’s clothes.” The big man stated, without an ounce of emotion in his voice.
“WHAT?” (y/n)’s posture changed completely; a defiant look marked all over her face, “That doesn’t make any sense! These aren’t boy’s clothes; these are MY CLOTHES! And even if they were boy’s clothes, we live in a free country, I can wear whatever I want!”
“Then go wear whatever you want somewhere else. You can’t come in like that, it’s the club’s policy.”
“Fuck the club’s policy! That’s so unethical what the hell?! I can’t believe people were recommending me this shit hole!” (y/n) screamed into the guard’s face, pointing fingers, waving arms and when she was finished, she spat on his shoes. Yes, she spat. Seonghwa grabbed her hand immediately pulling her out of there before they got into trouble, and ran away into nowhere, just wanting to get away.
“I’ll make sure to fill a complaint later.” Seonghwa stated after catching his breath from the unplanned cardio. “Also, I think this run sobered me.”
“I can’t believe that wearing oversized clothes is breaking club’s policy, what the hell?” (y/n) sat on the sidewalk still annoyed with the situation. “I’ve would’ve spat on his face if he weren’t to be that freaking huge.” Seonghwa laughed loudly sitting down next to her, making her laugh as well. “Thank you for pulling me out, he could probably smash me with one hand.”
“That’s what I’m here for (y/n), Mia delegated me the job when she decided to go home. But I got to say, you scare me sometimes.” He bumped his shoulder on hers lightly, making her look up at him smiling. “What should we do now? Go home?”
“I guess... the night is ruined anyway, and I also think the run sobered me.” (y/n) chuckled, leaning her head to rest on the boy’s shoulder. This simple gesture almost made Seonghwa forget how to breathe, starting to feel funny things in his stomach. He remained as still and quiet as possible, afraid that even the slightest movement would make her stand up and break the contact.
They stayed like that for a while, still recovering from the run. Until (y/n) noticed something right in front of them that made her stand up with a sudden movement, startling Seonghwa. She widened her eyes and looked down at her friend, as happy as a kid opening Christmas’ presents.
“What?”
“This night can still be memorable! I’m a genius!” she started crossing the road, stopping in the middle to look at her friend, still standing up from the sidewalk. “Come one! Hurry up!”
Seonghwa could not believe how a person could change their mood that fast. A few moments ago, she was pouty, annoyed, angry, and just wanted to go home. But now, she looks like a child and is ready for a new adventure as if nothing had happened before. He did love that about her. Love? Wait, no what? He liked her, liked, as a friend. He was sure of it. Or was he?
“How?”
“How what?”
“How are you going to make this night memorable?” that question made her smile even wider, grabbing his hand for what seemed to be the hundredth time that night, dragging him to a small shop with a neon light sign. As soon as Seonghwa realised what it was he stepped back.
“No, (y/n), no way you’re getting a tattoo here!” his face expression was shock, and nothing else.
“No, I am not. We are!”
“What do you even know about this place? Is it even hygienic?” Seonghwa glanced over the tattoo shop with disgust.
“I don’t know,” (y/n) shrugged her shoulders, “but we should get inside and find out.” She stepped in without a care in the world, a little bell rang when she opened the door.
Seonghwa walked behind her looking around, analysing every small detail searching for any red flags that would tell him to get the hell out of there. So far, everything seemed nice, it was organized, the store overall seemed clean, and the tattoo drafts hung upon the walls were actually aesthetically pleasing.
“This doesn’t look so bad… but what kind of tattoo shop is opened until this late at night?” The boy wasn’t yet convinced, and (y/n) knew it would take him a while, being as cautious as he is.
“Stop being so septic about everything, Hwa!”
“May I help you?” a voice coming from behind them made (y/n) jump. A tall woman came out of the side door, probably leading to where the tattoos were made, and greeted them with a smile. “Sorry if I startled you, love.”
“Oh, hm, we want to get tattoos! Together!” Seonghwa glanced over at (y/n) wondering why she was being so weird and flustered all of a sudden, so lost looking at her that he didn’t even corrected the together part. But he went back to reality when the woman spoke again.
“So, you want matching tattoos?”
“NO! We don’t, I don’t, I haven’t agreed to this yet! (y/n), a word please?”
“We’ll be right back!” (y/n) said all smiley to the woman, who smiled back at her while she was basically being dragged to the outside again. “What the hell Hwa? You could’ve been nicer back there!”
“You are all heart eyed looking at that tattoo artist!”
“So what? … are you jealous Hwa?”, (y/n) smirked, tilting her head sweetly, pleased with how annoyed the boy looked about the situation.
“What? No! I don’t have any reason to be jealous, this,” he pointed between them,” this isn’t a relationship, so no, I’m not jealous. You wish. And don’t give me that look!”
“You look cute when you get nervous, Hwa.”
“Shut up, let’s just go home!” he said as he started to walk away, but (y/n) was stubborn and wouldn’t leave without a tattoo so she stood in front of him so he wouldn’t go any further.
“We haven’t gotten our tattoos yet. And I really want a tattoo on my thigh and I really want to do it with you!”, she pointed her index at him touching his chest slightly.
“Why though?”
“Because I don’t have any thigh tattoo yet, duh..”
“And you should get one, there’s plenty of space for it.” He smirked glancing at (y/n)’s thick thighs, getting a soft punch on his shoulder as a response. “But why with me? Do I really have to make one too?”
“Yes! I really want us to have something ours, I have one with Mia as well and you’re my only other best friend and I don’t want to lose you.”
“And how will a tattoo help you with that, huh?” he crossed his arms looking down at (y/n) with furrowed eyebrows.
“When I get mad at Mia for some reason and I want to hate her, I look at the tattoo we made together and it just brings back all the good stuff and I know everything will be okay, because at the end of the day we still love each other and that won’t change over a stupid fight.” The girl gets embarrassed as soon as she realises that she just shared something that until now was only hers, making her look down at her feet. “You probably think it’s silly and that’s okay, we won’t do it if you don’t want to.” Voice quieter than before, barely audible but Seonghwa heard her just fine.
“Okay, let’s get thigh tattoos. Together.”
(y/n)’s eyes widened at the statement, and the looks of happiness and excitement of before came back to life again, making Seonghwa laugh at how adorable his friend looked.
“Really? Thank you so much Hwa!!!” she hugged his torso so tightly that he almost went out of breath.
“I have one condition though. To make it more fun, you know?” (y/n) nodded, indicating him to proceed, “I pick a design for you and you one for me, and we can only see it after it is already tattooed on our skin. What do you say?”
“Uhhh that does sound like fun! But don’t make it too big nor too dark, please!” he nodded in agreement and they went back inside to pick the said designs.
They shared their idea with the tattoo artist, who got really excited about it and took them, one at the time, into the other room to discuss their ideas and bring them to life. (y/n) picked a woman’s body silhouette, besides looking really cool it just made sense since their friendship started as something more physical than emotional. Seonghwa on the other hand chose a minimalist alien, it reminded him of when they first met and (y/n) couldn’t pronounce his name correctly and would just call him alien face, he also asked the tattoo artist to make it face her so she wouldn’t have to look into a mirror to see it properly.
(y/n) went in first to get her right thigh tattooed, so excited that she didn’t bother to take off her clothes, simply ripping her tights in the spot she wanted the tattoo.
“Hm ok, that was hot!” Seonghwa said softly, trying to control himself avoiding looking at (y/n)’s now more exposed thigh.
“Keep it in your pants, Mr. Park.” (y/n) laughed as she laid down to finally get the tattoo her dear friend picked, getting more and more anxious as the moment approached while Luna got her supplies ready. Seonghwa then pulled a chair to sit next to her and keep her distracted so she wouldn’t try to peak.
After a while, (y/n) stopped feeling the needle puncturing her skin and looked up at Luna, eyes wondering if it was already done. The other woman nodded, and she immediately stood up to see the result, a high pitch squeak leaving her lips as soon as she saw an alien facing her.
“Hwa!! I have your face on my thigh!!” her eyes wide, looking between her leg and her friend, a huge smile on her face and eyes almost tearing up at how happy she was. “I love it, I love it, I love it!” she wrapped her arms around the boy’s neck and gave him a kiss on his left cheek, squeezing him against her and holding him there for a few seconds before pulling away. “Now it’s your turn! Go, go!”
Seonghwa got up right away and started to take his pants off, making (y/n) look away.
“Please (y/n), as if you’ve never seen me naked!” he chuckled throwing his pants at her as soon as got them completely off, catching her off guard making her laugh.
They repeated the same process, now with (y/n) seated in the chair keeping Seonghwa distracted by making terrible puns and dad jokes. The needle puncturing his skin stang a bit but, just like (y/n), he already had a few tattoos, so he got used to it quickly. When Luna finished the second tattoo of this iconic duo, as she started to call them, Seonghwa couldn’t help but laugh at (y/n)’s choice.
“This will certainly remind me of you and make me hate you a little less if it comes to that.” He chuckled making (y/n) blush a bit without him noticing. “Thank you for talking me into this, it’s a memorable night for sure.” And kissed her cheek, not as roughly as she did to him, it was a soft kiss, his lips barely touching her skin, and yet it was enough to make her even more flustered, awakening funny feelings in her tummy.
After spending all that money on the tattoos, they decided it would be best for their bank accounts to walk home instead of getting an uber, making their way across town to (y/n) and Mia’s apartment in a slow pace, most of the way made in silence for they were too tired and sleepy, needing to channel all their remain energy towards their legs to be able to walk.
As they were approaching (y/n)’s building their pace slowed down, stopping right in front of the pathway, the girl already looking for the keys in her messy bag while walking towards the front door.
“See you tomorrow (y/n)” he says as they reach the door, (y/n) with the keys in hand already opening the door, and he places a kiss on her forehead not breaking the contact right away. (y/n) didn’t say anything until he was already halfway the pathway.
“Hwa, wait.”
“Huh?” the boy turned around, standing near the sidewalk.
“Why don’t you stay for the night?” she asked almost in a whisper, but Seonghwa heard it anyway and took a few steps closer to her.
“Oh (y/n), I would but I’m really tired and-”
“Just for cuddles, Hwa…” she tried to keep her eyes in his but the vulnerability her request showed made her instinctually look down at her feet.
“Just cuddles? Are you sure?” Seonghwa couldn’t hide his amusement, since (y/n) always made it clear that to her the benefits part of their friendship should be associated with sex at all times because, according to her, getting emotional and cuddle just for the sake of cuddling would turn this into a real and serious relationship, even though the boy tried to convince her otherwise multiple times.
“Shut up and get in before I change my mind.”
They went up to the apartment as quietly as possible, making their way to (y/n)’s bedroom right away and changing into more comfortable clothing, which to Seonghwa meant underwear and nothing more.
He laid on his back wrapping an arm around (y/n)’s shoulders as she laid her head onto his chest, embracing his torso and putting one leg over his. It was comfortable, warm, and felt safe, for both of them.
“This still doesn’t mean we’re in a relationship Hwa.” (y/n) groaned falling deeply into sleep.
“We could be though.” But (y/n) didn’t hear it.

CHAPTER 5
Pairing: Park Jimin x Min Yoongi
Contents: Enemies to lovers, religious trauma, romance, fluff, angst, smut
Word Count: 1k
Summary: Jimin is your typical neighborhood good guy. In spite of that, his obsession with being the perfect Christian is keeping him from living a fulfilling life. While he is aiming for a reserved spot in heaven, though, conflict arises when he is roomed with a troubled youth, Yoongi, during the youth day camp near the church. Being total opposites, how will the pair get along?
[Chapter Index]
━━━━━━━━━▲━━━━━━━━━
Under the intense heat of midday sun, the roads full of cars shimmered. The sunlit skyscrapers pierced the hot, blue sky. It was the hottest day in July so far, however, Jimin dressed appropriately for the occasion. His dark brown hair fell back into a ponytail, unfortunately, some fly-aways managed to move to the front of his face. His clothing consisted of khaki shorts and a white button-up shirt that had its sleeves rolled up. A pair of white converse completed the look.
Now, he was walking to the same spot where he bumped into Yoongi the night before. Jimin could not resist planning their day out. It helped that the weather was amazing as well.
After turning the corner he was now on the same sidewalk as yesterday, and there he was. Near the stop sign, leaning against the brick building, was Yoongi.
He wore black adidas shorts with a loose white t-shirt, as well as black sandals and a bucket hat.
Yoongi always looks so fashionable no matter how simple the outfit actually is.
Despite his confidence, Jimin felt insecure about many aspects of his life. The amount of prayer he did seemed to have no effect on what he wanted, no matter how hard he tried to be happy. But what exactly was he missing?
“Hey Yoongs.”
Yoongi turned his head to the side, revealing a pair of sunglasses that covered the males eyes.
“Hey, and I said don’t call me that.” He spoke with a sharp tone.
Jimin chuckled and ran his hand behind his neck before looking away for a moment, “Yeah, sorry sorry. Anyways, are you ready for our day out today?”
Yoongi shrugged, “I guess so.”
Ripples of excitement shot through Jimin's body, causing him to spring on his tippy toes unconsciously.
“Great, now let’s go, I can show you so many easy ways to have fun!”
Yoongi didn’t say much, but Jimin was quick to move along to their destination so he had no choice but to follow behind. As they walked, no one talked; Jimin was too busy leading them, and Yoongi was just going with the flow of everything; he wasn't bothered to say much.
“Alright, now let’s just cross-”
In the midst of Jimin crossing the road, Yoongi pulled him back onto the curb as a car passed in front of them. Jimin stumbled backward and grew wide-eyed when he saw the fast car riding by.
“O-oh.”
“Are you crazy, Jimin? Watch where you're going, I don't want to have to drag your corpse to the curb."
Jimin couldn't say anything else before Yoongi crossed the street when the light turned green. Immediately Jimin followed Yoongi.
“I’m so sorry I - oh! Turn left.”
The situation didn't need to be further escalated and Jimin stayed silent until they arrived at the entrance.
“Here we are! Bellflower Park, I go here whenever I have the chance…which is not a lot actually.”
His eyes were fixed on Yoongi, who looked around. Because of the extreme heat, not many people were out today. The park consisted of large green fields, a few trees, and a little pond to the side with a wooden bridge on top of it.
“Isn’t it nice?”
It took a minute for Yoongi to respond, but eventually he nodded his head, “Actually, it does look kinda nice…I guess. So what are we going to do here?”
“We’re just here to relax and enjoy the moment?”
“Pfts, what moment is that exactly?”
Jimin extended both his hands to the sky, “Just enjoying the fact that we get to live another day.”
Yoongi laughed, “More like a blessing and a curse.”
A smile spread across Jimin's face as he stared at Yoongi. Yoongi's smile was a little bit wider than usual, so much so that his gums peaked through under his lips. Jimin couldn’t help but laugh himself.
“What are you laughing at?”
Jimin shook his head, “Oh nothing, Just excited for today!”
Jimin walked again, searching for an appropriate place to sit. He followed the dirt path and looked around in awe. It’s been a while since he last came here, one of the many reasons he was so excited for today.
They reached a tree with some shade underneath it after Jimin pointed out the location.
“This is such a perfect spot!’
Inhaling a deep sigh, Jimin leaned back against the thick trunk and settled down on the cool grass. The same was done by Yoongi, but he sat in front of Jimin instead, “So what do we do now?”
“We just relax and talk.”
Grabbing his sunglasses, Yoongi put them beside himself, “Sounds boring.”
“Luckily I’m here! We can finally get to know each other without you causing trouble.”
Yoongi leaned back against his hands as he rolled his eyes.
“Whatever, just do what you’re going to do.”
“Alright so - what are you doing?”
Jimin inquired as Yoongi took out something from his pocket that looked like a bottle. He opened the top and took a drink.
“A drink, you want some?”
Yoongi extended his arm towards Jimin with the bottle in hand. Jimin hesitated for a second as his eyes narrowed on the object. He leaned forward and took it.
“Um sure.”
Having already opened the lid, he quickly took a sip of the liquid before instantly coughing. The sensation of burning in his throat made him feel as if his mouth was drying up. Jimin leaned to the side, and coughed some more, spitting out whenever his saliva tasted what he just drank.
“Wh-what was that Yoongi, it tastes horrible?”
Yoongi could only laugh as he took the bottle away from Jimin's hand.
“Um, a drink.”
As Jimin sat back up, he wiped his tongue with the end of his shirt.
“What do you mean?”
“It’s alcohol, dummy.”
After taking a sip again, Yoongi breathed a refreshed sigh.
Immediately, Jimin’s cheeks flushed, and his facial muscles became rigid as she stood up from where he was, “That wasn’t funny.” His voice grew louder by the end of the sentence before he started to walk away from Yoongi.
“Hey! Jimin, where are you going?”
Jimin was headed towards the park exit as Yoongi scrambled up to his feet and jogged over to where he was.
“Hey hey, I’m sorry…It wasn’t funny.”
Jimin slowed down his steps and shook his head, “I-It’s fine, but I’m heading home.”
Home is where he went, leaving Yoongi behind with an overwhelming sense of guilt.
“That was pretty shitty of me, I guess.”

Ateez Hongjoong/Mingi x Male Reader
Warning: slight warning through the whole thing
Words: 3319
A/n: I wrote this for a school project but of course not with Ateez names in it but I change it for here!
——————————————————————————
I watch students crowd in the courtyard. I guess it's 2 o'clock. I look back at London who was still talking about some boys again like always and Paris ignore her as she play on her phone. Yup I said to myself just like any other day. I look to see what Paris was playing but instead she was mocking her sister. I shook my head as London punch her and continue to talk. I look away one more time looking at all the people walking around talking and laughing with their friends. I turn back around to find that the twins walk off without me again. I ran to catch up with them until my phone went out.
I stop and pull my phone out of my pocket looking at the ID that pop up on my screen. I didn't want to pick it up so I swipe the reject bubble and quickly ran to the twins who stop when they saw me stop.
"Was it your mom again." London ask.
I didn't really want to answer her at the moment. So I shrugged my shoulders and continue to walk.
Paris stop in front of me and said," you know that you have to talk to her now or later right."
I shook my head and said," Talking to her is like talking to a wall. She never listens and she won't tell me anything. Why should I answer her just to hear her complain and tell me I should have just done nothing with my life."
I watch as the two back away a little bit. I look down to the ground not wanting to see their face. I know somewhere that they were disappointed in me because of what I just said. I felt a hand be place on my shoulder.
"You know that we never meant to upset you M/n." Paris said to me.
I kept my head down some they would see how much I hate myself at the moment. They just didn't understand how frustrating it was when you want to know about family and all your mom ever says is that they didn't love her or me. That my dad left because he known that I was never going to be good son for him.
That what she says to me all the time over and over again. I look at the ground trying to think of a time that she didn't lie to me.
The twins were gone by the time I snap back to reality. I sigh and watch people walk by with their life. I wonder what the truth has in store for me. If I ever find out what the truth is. It like the same question all the time. Why did he leave? Why didn't my family love me? Is it my mom's fault for this? Why must there be so many question that need to be answer? Taking a deep breath I continue to walk to class that seem to be miles away from where I'm standing. It seem that every time I get closer to something it moves far away from my reach.
After class I walk back to the bench think of what to do now. I could go hang out with London and Paris or I could go home and catch up on some TV series. Maybe I could finally go to the store so that I have food in my apartment. Hm I look down at my feet trying to figure out what to do. I could do all three and just call it even after I'm done. I was snap back to reality again but a big gust of wind.
I look up to the sky to find large holes start to form in the sky. Everyone watch the hole in sky wondering or scared of what was happening. I stop looking around and rush to the math building. London and Paris have math so maybe they are safe. I quickly ran down the hallway looking for room 609. I stop in front of the door walking into the room to find that there was no one there.
"London," I yell through the empty room hoping they were hiding.
After waiting awhile and I didn't hear anything in the room but now I was looking out the window watching people after people be killed or people killing people in the courtyard. I thought back just couple of hours ago with happy people talking and laughing but now the courtyard was filled with bodies and blood.
The thought of one of them could be London or Paris or both made me sick. The sick feeling made want to know where the two where.
I made my way out the building looking around for anything that could kill me and looking at the ground for London or Paris. The scene in front of me was too much but it the only way to get out of the mess that lay down around me. I took a deep breath and continue to walk through the bodies till I made it to the street. The road was covered in red and the eerily silent made me uneasy.
"What do we have here," I heard a voice behind.
I turn around to see who it was but only to find two men there. I step back little bit once they got closer. They both seem to watch my every move not letting me get away from their stares.
"He doesn't seem to have a voice. What an idiot," the one with brown eyes said.
"Hmm it seem you might be right Hongjoong but we should still give him a chance to answer for himself or killing him wouldn't be fun like the others," the other said.
I quickly said," what are you?"
The question was the only thing that I had on my mind. The only stupid thing I could says might be my last words.
I felt chills run up my spine as the sun started to set. This isn't good I don't want to be here in the dark with them.
"We are running out of time Mingi." Hongjoong said.
Mingi look up to the sky and smile," I guess you're right."
I watch them closely so if they did try to kill me I could run.
Mingi step forward then stop," there something about you that I wonder." Hongjoong look at me and nodded to Mingi.
How did I get into this mess now? I step back but I trip on something and fell.
Hongjoong laugh out," look at that he scare Mingi."
Mingi smile and look down at me. I quickly got up in embarrassment.
Mingi ask," so do you have anything to say beside that stupid question you ask?"
I nodded and said," why does it matter?"
Hongjoong snap and grab my shirt bring me closer to them.
"Listen here brat you are wasting our time and I think it time for yours to be over," he yell to me.
I closed my eyes waiting for something but before anything could happen Mingi said," wait Hongjoong we might could use him if need too. Let keep him maybe he will be a good slave to keep."
Hongjoong drop me onto the ground and look back at Minhi then nodded. I got up but looking down at my hand that were now covered in blood. I felt light headed because of all the blood and the smell of dead bodies. I look around feeling dizzy and all the bodies blur into on dark red blurry circles. I step back kind of scared of what was going on.
"Catch him Hongjoong ," I heard Mingi says.
I felt arms pull me up as gravity pull down on me. The room I woke up in was a small room with no windows and one door stood to my right. The walls were a rusted brown color and the floor were damp. The only light that was coming into the room was a wall light that didn't give out much light. I look around the poor lighting room looking for something that maybe help me know where I was. I walk over to the door pulling on in then pushing on it but nothing the door was lock.
After for what felt like years the door open. I look at Jimin as he cross the room to me. I back away from him as he tried to touch me.
"Get away from me," I said to him.
He stood there looking at me and drag me over to the door.
"Sometimes you humans never listen," he said under his breath but just enough for me to hear him.
I tried to get up to walk but he was moving too fast causing me to fall and be drag to where he was taking me. I wasn't mad just frustrated that I can't get up. I felt tears in my eye as my frustration increase.
"Let me get up," I yell to him.
He stop and turn to me," you ever do that again and I will kill you where you stand next time."
He then wait for me to get up but as soon as I did he pull me harshly causing me to fall back down. The hallway was dark and at the end of it was a single door. Hongjoong didn't really talk much just turn around here and there to see what I was doing. Hongjoong open the door and threw me. I land on the ground and groan in pain.
"Hongjoong you should be careful with our guest," Mingi said.
Hongjoong rolled his eyes and walk over me to go sit down. I got up slowly making sure that Hongjoong stay where he was as I got up. I brush off my clothes from being on the floor. I didn't know what was going to happen but whatever it is I don't like it. I stood there waiting for something from the two but nothing came at all. The room was silent as I look around....
They didn't get up or say anything just went back to looking at the many maps and plans. I wish I could understand what they were saying but the language didn't sound like anything I knew or heard before.... it wasn't long before Hongjoong caught me trying to get out of the room that they were in. He quickly grab and pull me down the hallway and into the room where I was lock in early.....
Once I was in the room, he lock the door and walk away. I got up fast trying to get the door open again but fail. How could this room be so old but this door won't break..... I cry a bit as I hurt myself many time just trying to get the door open..... why won't it open....
After a couple of days being in the room that I woke up in I was finally got the door to open. I look down the long hallway where there was only one door at the end. I walk down the hallway slowly making sure that I didn't make to much sound. I place both of my hands on each wall to make sure that if the was hidden door I would find it.
Couple of minutes later my hand pass a bump in the wall. I stop and went back to it looking at it closely. I put my hand on the bump and push to see if it would move. Nothing happen so I grab onto the edge of the bump was pull back. It slowly open and I look in and there at the bottom I could see a road and hear noise. The noise was so loud that it sound like it came from the courtyard from the college. The thoughts about the college made me think of London and Paris. I wonder if they are trying to find me or at least trying to keep themselves safe. I snap back and sat down on the edge of the door step. I took a deep breath feeling my anxiety rising in my crest as I push myself off the edge.
The fall wasn't long and I landed on my knees. I rush to stand up and run but stop in this alleyway for safety. I look around and ran to the street where a whole bunch of people crowd. I look around the street till I saw a pair of eye that were familiar. He watch me closely like he was telling me to stay still and not move from that spot. Then it hit me that it was Hongjoong and he just saw me. I kept an eye out for him but then took off hoping that I would find a way out of this place.
After running for a while I came to a weird hole that was on the ground. I look down at it to see the half ruin college that I went to. I look back to see if Hongjoong had found me but nothing but silence was heard. I place myself over the hole and slowly push my foot down to see if it was open. My foot went down below the ground to the ground in my universe. I didn't waste anymore time and step into my universe.
The buildings look like war had spend out and the bodies made the air smell so bad. The blood on the street had stain the sidewalk and road. I look around thinking of a place that London and Paris might have went. I wasn't worried about Hongjoong or Mingi because I knew where I was going here and they didn't know where to go. I quick ran down the street to the apartment building that belong to the college. I quickly threw the door open and climb the stairs. I made my way to London's apartment. I open the door to find nothing but a notice that London wrote.
'To whoever is reading this there is a group of us that is moving to a safer place. There are clues to where we are. Hopefully you can find us. M/n if this is you I hope your safe and you find me because there is something I must tell you.'
I place the notice down and ran down the stair then into the road. I look around the street to try to a find a the clue. There wasn't nothing that look different but I don't know how long i have been and the other universe. It was frustrating and I slam my hand into the side of a building. I press my back against the building and side down. I sat there for a while not knowing what to do. I'm so lost and there is no one here.
The day was gone and I woke up looking at the mess of my town. Nothing is going to change what they ruined. The people that live here are now gone and all that is left is building from us. The sky was a greyish color with no sunlight at all. This universe had became their just from one attack. I felt tears run down my face knowing that this is the end of us.
I got up and continue to walk down the street watching for anything that could lead me to somewhere safe. I already made my mind up if I get caught by Mingi and Hongjoong I wouldn't fight it and go with them. I came to a stop at the cross road in front of me this was it wasn't there was a white mark on one of the stop sign. I went to the right to follow the mark way. After couple of more signs there was another one.
It seem like forever when I finally made it to the end of the white marks. It took couple of day to make it to the camp. I walk around slowly to see where everyone was. The silent made my stomach turn as I turn the corner of the building. I fell to my knees looking around at the bodies that laid on the ground. I didn't want to get up to check who they were because I was afraid to see London or Paris there on the ground just like the beginning.
I slowly got up and walk through all the bodies looking closely to tell if one was London or Paris. There she was on the ground and little bit farther was Paris. After an hour of checking there they were. I look away knowing that they wasn't alive. I fell to my knees and cry to myself. I felt like everything was done that there was nothing left. I step back having thoughts that clouded my mind and ran off. I didn't know where I was going but I didn't care. I stop and lay down in a grass area. I had let my thoughts take over and the tears wouldn't stop. I lost everything even my mom someone I didn't care about but it still hurt. I closed my eyes hoping that sleep would take over and in a couple of minutes it did.
The sound of voices fill my ear as I open my eye. Where was I? I got up off the bed and walk to the window. I look down at the street to find people walking down the road like nothing had happen just a couple of weeks ago. I look to find the college but instead I found a park. This was my universe so why isn't anything the same. I look down at the people that fill the street and remember the blood and bodies that were there before. I remember the twins and how I rudely told them to leave me alone.
I step out of room that I was in to find some answer somewhere. I walk down a long stairway and there was only two people at the end of the stairway.
"Mister Hongjoong would like to see you in his office," one of them said to me and I follow her.
When we got there I sat down in front of a desk waiting for her to leave so that I could get some answers. Hongjoong turn around and look at me.
"You really surprise me on what you did," he said to me.
I didn't say anything not knowing what I did.
He seem to understand me and explain," you were under so much stress you time travel to the future but Mingi and I ready knew you could." "
We waited to see if you would really do it," he continued.
"You made our job a lot easier and we thank you for that," a voice said from behind me.
I knew who it was Mingi. I didn't turn around but felt a hand be place on my shoulder and Hongjoong stood up to go to Mingi. I felt his hand be place on my shoulder too.
"We been planing this for years now and it was to just to put you in stressful situations to get what we needed." Mingi said.
I felt my energy slowly leave me as they continue to tell me of all the things that they had planned.
"To think now you just belong us now,"Hongjoong said.
This was it. This was my story to a painful past and a misery future.
